MNHQ here - new board for Christian Mumsnetters

Hi, everyone. We are pleased to introduce this new board dedicated specifically to discussions around the Christian faith. Many of you have expressed the desire for a space where you can talk about your beliefs in a more focused and mutually respectful environment. We want to honour that while maintaining the open, thoughtful discussions Mumsnet is known for!

To be clear, this board is not intended to be an echo chamber or to shut down critical discussions. Honest questions, debates, and differing perspectives are welcome, as long as they are respectful. However, what we aim to avoid is dismissiveness, mockery, or hostility toward others' beliefs. This is a board where Christian Mumsnetters should feel comfortable exploring and expressing their faith while engaging with others who may share different views.

We hope you enjoy your new board and do let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

this is nice - I am a Christian. I reckon there’ll be trolls everywhere though. It was being implied that Christianity is a religion of the uneducated on the last forum, so I’ve stopped replying to them now 😂

Whilst I enjoy posting and reading a lot of the threads on this board it can be difficult to have discussions that are primarily about aspects of the Christian faith. Often we are left defending simply being a Christian and what it entails to believe (from a personal perspective) to unbelievers.

Hopefully, Christians will be free to talk about the faith without the usual tedious 'imaginary friend' and 'sky fairy' type comments. Christians deserve that right on a board created for them.

Some people think they're soooo original when they come out with these lines. The comments are right up there with 'is this the 1950s' when a woman takes her husband's surname, (or chooses to be a stay-at-home-mum,) and 'are you on glue,' did you mean to be so rude,' and 'you sound young OP.'

Proper patronising, mocking comments, but hilariously over-used. Often posted by the posters who are the most hard of thinking, narrow-minded, and not terribly bright.

I'm not religious but I have big respect for those who have faith.
I clicked on this thread just to have a peek (I hope no one minds).
Then the advertising algorithms must have kicked in because I got an add on Facebook for a plush Jesus 🙂

Thank you. It will be nice to not have the usual vitriol that you can get on the main boards if you admit you are a Christian.
I’m looking forward to seeing some new supportive threads.

Given that there already exists a Jewish Mumsnetters topic and a Muslim Mumsnetters topic, I always thought it rather strange that there wasn't a Christian Mumsnetters one to complete the Abrahamic trio.

Although goes to show that whole "your phone is spying on your internet usage" is true.

I hope that it will be moderated promptly.

I'm not a believer, but many of the people I love most are Christian, and it pains me when (some) atheists make sneering and unfairly negative and generalist comments about Christians.
