Sokere · 04/12/2018 11:49

Thank you Daydreamdaisy and boldlygoingsomewhere for posting about Mlle Lenomard cartomancy. I will enjoy studying this deck and her.

Also to BlankTimes for those wonderful links.

I wondered if anyone has experienced animals acting strangely, as if they see something during healing /comforting sessions?

Ps Welcome to the new posters.

daydreamdaisy · 04/12/2018 12:58

@boldlygoingsomewhere thank you! I've just looked her up and am very interested, lots of research to be done on this style I think!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 04/12/2018 13:38

Yes, daydream - there is a ton of information in English now compared to a few years ago. Caitlin Matthews’ book is very good as is Andy Boroshevengra. Also, Rana George has a very accessible style.

Just be aware that there are different traditions which alter the meanings of some key cards e.g. the card representing work could be Fox, Anchor or Moon depending if it’s the French, German or Dutch/Belgian strand. Pick one and stick with it otherwise you’ll get muddled. Smile

speakout · 04/12/2018 16:11

Just a quick pop in and a big welcome to the newcomers- any tea left in the pot.

Jst back from the post office and happened upon a horrible accident scene.

I'll spare the details.
Trying to get rid of the image from my mind.

Had a busy couple of days, but feeling a little more organised.

I think I will need to start christmas shopping soon- I am so glad for the internet!!

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 04/12/2018 17:17

Speakout sorry to hear that. Hope you're ok Thanks

Internet shopping is a godsend isn't it? I don't know how I'd fit all the shopping in otherwise. I'm struggling enough as it is. I'm so busy at work and everything seems so much more difficult somehow when it's dark and cold.

EnchantersNightshade · 04/12/2018 17:39

Hear you go speakout

It's horrible when you are involved in or witness accidents. I still have images I find difficult to forget.

EnchantersNightshade · 04/12/2018 17:43

And hallelujah for internet shopping. I'm months behind but beginning to order a few exciting things from our threads. Thank you everyone for your recommendations. I'm currently dipping into the Moon diary & looking forward to reading The Green Witch.

Am enjoying reading Rae Beth's Hedgewitch too. Her style of writing as short letters in the book is just perfect for my tiny attention span Grin

EnchantersNightshade · 04/12/2018 17:46

I think I meant Here you go speakout Grin

YashmisCrone · 04/12/2018 20:24

Oh speakout what an awful thing to see. Hope you’re ok x

Another one here who should probably start thinking about Christmas shopping.. I’m determined not to over do it this year, in any sense.. I want to enjoy a restful time when I can take a break rather than getting so overwhelmed that I end up unwell. I know extra pressure/stress is almost unavoidable but I really want to try and manage it well.

This thread- hearing others experiences/reflections is really helping my resolve. Thank you and love to you all Flowers

GrumpyOldMare · 04/12/2018 21:18

Any tea left in the pot? My feet hurt,my arthritis is a little painful to say the least.

But on the upside,I've had a lovely mum and son day in Bristol, shopping for presents - he's bought me a new Kindle Paperwhite as the one I've got is the one without the light.I'm not allowed to touch it except to charge it up,then it's to be wrapped and hidden in his room! It was an unexpected day together - he wanted to spend the day with me instead of going out with friends! I've obviously done something right over the years!

So proud of my lovely lad.

FilledSoda · 04/12/2018 21:34

Evening everyone,
Speakout I hope you are feeling more settled , it's a horrible jolt when you see something like that.

I really fancy getting the French Cartomancy now daydreandaisy Grin

I'm trying to adjust my whole attitude to Christmas , especially when I read how some of you tailor it to your sensibilities and make it fit.
I aim to find the joy in the day I'm in and not think much further ahead than that really .

Today's joy was Venus early this morning , wonderful.

I can't find the post now but there was talk of time speeding up as we age. My understanding was that we perceive it in relation to how long we've been here.
If we are 50 the one year is a relatively small amount, when we were 5 it was a massive chunk of our lives .
Maybe there is more to it , I'll have to look it up.
It's true though , a year goes in a flash.

Right dear chums , off to bed for me , long work day tomorrow.

speakout · 04/12/2018 21:45

Yes, I am feeling better, THanks.

OP posts:
speakout · 04/12/2018 21:52

Regarding time speeding up with age, I read it was to do with the fact that we do so much repetitive stuff, that a lot of time we are switched off, not really noticing, so time appears to pass quickly.

Children notice a lot more, their world is newer and more exciting, they pay a lot more attention than we do. As we age we notice less and less and time whizzes by.

I think there is something to be learned there, to be a little more mindful, to take a moment to notice things. When we leave the house, look at the sky, smell the air. watch for changes. Take a different route, explore that little detour that you pass but never look into. Not only is it enriching, but good for our emotional health.

Sokere · 04/12/2018 22:25

Sorry to hear your news speakout about the accident, but glad you're okay now.

Yes, since asking the time question I've subsequently learnt the issue has a lot of theories, not everyone agrees on the reason , but most experience the phenomena.

It doesn't bother me though, just curious as to why.

Busy times for most of us right now but glad to see Enchanters posting. I am pleased you are stronger. Flowers

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 04/12/2018 23:04

PerfectlyGood if I’m feeling somewhat under the weather then I try salt baths and rosemary oil.

If I feel a bit meh - lacking energy - then I try uplifting music or dancing to get some blood flowing.

Ultimately if I’ve lost my mojo (and I’m not ill) then it’s usually a reaction to having too much to do and / or not wanting to have to do it. I allow myself to step off the treadmill and stop. Time for 🐈 and ☕️. Once the demands stop I usually find that I rapidly feel better. 😊

Be kind to yourself and I think you’ll soon find that you already all have that you need to do what you really want to do. It’s just being obscured by other stuff.

EnchantersNightshade · 05/12/2018 08:25

Thanks Sokere, feels good to be able to join in. I think I'm absorbing strength from here Wink ignoring new medications

I am 'lucky' in that the severity & length of my illness eventually released me from my Christmas obligations & duty over the years. I used to feel so run down & every Christmas (working full time, hosting & running round making sure everyone was ok) used to trigger colds/infections. Silly me.

Am thinking of you all tail-chasing & am so pleased to read you sharing self-care tips. I detect that many of you are much wiser with personal boundaries than I've been in the past. That's wise advice Gee

Now, I am really looking forward to another extremely quiet Christmas. When your goal is just to get out of bed it changes your perspectives on 'what's important'. Turkey & woodburner are my aims. Grin

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 05/12/2018 08:55

Enchanters lovely to hear from you and wishing you strength for your turkey and wood burner.

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/12/2018 10:01

enchanters I fear I am as bad as you were with personal boundaries. Utterly exhausted and losing my shit daily atm. Today because the boy is sick and has to have a day off school so will be under my feet whilst I try to get the stuff done that I needed to get done last week and rapidly running out of time for. Otoh I have just flat out stated that I will be helped otherwise Christmas will be cancelled in the kind of voice that says I really mean it. And help will happen. Because if I doesn't I am on strike. I have not only emptied the jug I have flipping smashed it in the process.

On a lighter note I took a lovely walk in the crisp evening last night which was nice and I enjoyed mostly (would have been better if my mind would have shut down on the to do list)

EnchantersNightshade · 05/12/2018 13:09

I have not only emptied the jug I have flipping smashed it in the process. GrinGrinGrin

You are funny HillsBesideTheSea. I do hope you get the help you've requested Smile

New moon tomorrow. Maybe this will assist some of us.

VioletCharlotte · 05/12/2018 19:21

Hills I hope you're feeling a bit better this evening and you've managed to get some stuff done? Everyone seems to be totally overwhelmed and exhausted at the moment. I was feeling better at the start of the week, but tired again today and not feeling great. I really want to get excited about Christmas but just don't have the energy.

I'm wondering if some of this is to do with the mercury retrograde? I believe it ends tomorrow and enters its shadow period so maybe things will start to improve for us all!

speakout · 05/12/2018 19:49

Evening to everyone, seems a lot of us have burn out right now.

I'm doing Ok, but far far too busy and spreading myself too thinly.

Still plenty energy in this thread- take when you need to.
I have a quietish evening today- the weather has been breathtaking today- rain, mist, low cloud- very atmospheric.
I'm having some cinnamon and apple tea and writing some Christmas cards tonight, tomorrow shopping in the city with DD to see the lights - will be good to spend time with her, but traipsing around shops is not my idea of fun.

Hope everyone finds some cosiness tonight.

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 05/12/2018 20:02

Speakout your posts always make me feel calmer some how. You have such a lovely way of describing things. Hope you enjoy your day with DD and survive the crowded shops!

speakout · 05/12/2018 20:32

VioletCharlotte

Thankyou.

I do hope those in need take the power from this thread, between us have plenty to spare- not individually, but as a group, we are a storm.
