Afternoon all

We are travelling to family for Christmas. The roads are jammed and the weather is awful. We have just stopped to rest and eat.

I have my candle photo ready in order to join in. What time is the connection please?

speakout · 23/12/2018 16:10

Our connection, our shared energy.

Sending peace love and energy to everyone at this powerful time when we can celebrate Solstice, full moon and life.

I have lit my candle but can't post a photo right now. I decided to use one called 'sea salt' and it has that lovely seasidey ozone aroma to it.

Many thanks for your company during these threads. It's a wonderful community to be part of

Speakout you are everything you have also attributed to everyone else and more.

If it hadn't been for the spark of your idea which grew into the flame of your first thread which then grew to where we are now, we wouldn't be in this lovely position today, so a massive shining, sparkling twinkling inner flame from everyone who feels theirs has been lit by being here, Thank-You

VioletCharlotte · 23/12/2018 17:58

Today I will see friends for the last time before they emigrate. Mixed emotions, incredibly happy and excited for them to be moving to a place much more suited to them. Sad because I have 30 years of friendship with one of them and I will miss her being close geographically.

I have a very excited 5 year old here! He's gone into craft overdrive, making all manner of Christmas themed 'things'. He does it completely independently too, so they are always a surprise.

Thank you for a wonderful candle connection yesterday. The energy was amazing.

VioletCharlotte · 24/12/2018 10:02

Wow Queenrollo you must have very mixed emotions! How very exciting for them. At least technology makes it easier to keep in touch these days.

Your little boy sounds gorgeous. I love seeing excited little ones at Christmas. My 'little ones' are still asleep. I'm pretty sure they'll still be early tomorrow though!

Candle connection was wonderful. Beautiful energy, I slept very soundly last night.

Elphame · 24/12/2018 11:38

Some lovely candle pictures. I have a house full of guests so may be very quiet for a few days....

As an INFJ it’s going to be a difficult week....the dog may get lots of long walks

YashmisCrone · 24/12/2018 12:06

Lovely to see all the candle pictures

queenrollo reading about your LO and his Christmas craft overdrive made me smile. Magic! A bittersweet day for you saying goodbye to your friends, I agree with Violet on the wonders on technology for staying connected.

Elphame you have my empathy. As an INFP I’d find it hard too. On big family get togethers and holidays I’ve always been the one volunteering to run errands that require me to go off on my own or cook dinner-anything that’s a solo task really! I find those few minutes replenishing- long dog walks sound like a marvellous idea!

It’s interesting to note how many of us introverts are drawn to a witches path...

I hoping for a quiet day before the ‘peopling’ starts!

speakout · 24/12/2018 15:54

YashmisCrone

I could have written that.

For me it's an energy thing I find social stuff so draining. Other people have told me I am energising.
I have only considered myself an introvert in the past few years.

I feel confident in company I find small talk easy, but it drains me. Takes me days to recover from having people visit.

And yet I have been paid to communicate.

I have a degree in Chemistry, worked in academic research for 10 years then moved into technical sales- high level stiff, equipment for DNA analysis for instance, costing megabucks. Lots of corporate entertaining, flying to Paris ans San Francisco for meetings.

So it's not to do with shyness. I found the job exhausting, but it was so well paid that I stuck to the career path for quite some time.

And even now I do the odd stint at events, my friend owns a farm and an artisan food business, she will call on me if she is short on hands to man a stand at a function or event talking to consumers and making business connections.
Again that wipes me out for days!!

YashmisCrone · 24/12/2018 16:20

I can totally relate speakout thank you for sharing that

I think it’s a really good point that it’s really not about shyness or being socially inept but where your energy comes from- we need to have alone time to recharge.

Whilst we can be great communicators and give a lot to others (I worked in research and academia for a while too!) social activity particularly is like ‘spending’ energy. There’s only so much we can spend before we need to replenish and recharge. It’s been really useful for me to learn this so I can both know and take care of myself better. I used to feel like there must be something wrong to need so much alone time- seeing other people energised by interacting in social situations left me baffled and feeling like a bit of a freak!

A day of back to back social activity yesterday has left me floored today! All people I love and enjoy spending time with yet I’m now totally drained.

Learning what it means to be an introvert has helped me accept myself and understand how to manage my energy levels
