A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration

All welcome.

Sounds lovely Speakout. Hope you enjoy yoga. I've been to a class tonight, feeling much more grounded now

PawneeParksDept · 01/11/2018 22:25

Just to say @speakout and @GruciusMalfoy I've seen your PMs and will reply ASAP, issues with workmen ongoing at moment 😱

Tealslate · 02/11/2018 07:33

Thank you for the lovely welcome. It is lovely to feel similar rather than different reading your posts about celebrating the turn of the year.

I often have crystals, stones, leaves, conkers, bits of wood etc in pockets or in my bag which I agree might look weird. It's me who collects them now as my children are much older.

I also got the tarot out yesterday. I need to find time to do some journeying and have lots of questions to mull over.

Glad you are feeling inspired.

Hello all, and welcome newcomers.

I just thought I'd show you my beautiful advent calendar. A friend who has a gift shop is selling them and I had to have one when I saw the hares.

That is so beautiful. I want one!!!

It's published by a company called Art Angels. There's a website:

www.art-angels.co.uk

I have some of the matching notecards too.

speakout · 02/11/2018 14:50

Thanks.

I saw this lovely print in The Range- I love the eccentric slightly crazy look in this hare's eyes- it's how I see myself at times

Oh, he's great.

And yes - I totally relate to his slightly frenzied expression.

Tealslate · 02/11/2018 15:44

Mawkish Twaddle that Advent calendar is gorgeous. I will take a look myself at that site.

Love the crazy hare pick speak out. It looks quite similar to the wrendale pottery I see in various garden centres/gift shops. Might have to buy a little something. The animals all look characterful.

ClaryFray · 02/11/2018 18:59

Hey all,

Thought I'd pop on 29 just finding my path again. Sadly I put it town for a time, but I always come back

Hope your all well

GruciusMalfoy · 02/11/2018 19:07

@Pawnee I got your message this evening, thank you! I'm going to reread it when the house is quiet.

@ClaryFray warm welcome, I hope you find these threads enjoyable

Really loving that advent calendar, it looks like a really tranquil scene.

ClaryFray · 02/11/2018 19:13

That advent calender looks beautiful. I love finding little things like that, that's not quite the norm.

speakout · 02/11/2018 22:03

ClaryFray

Yes and it's lovely when you find them in unexpected places.

Like my hares from Poundland, I also have a couple of independent charity shops near me, one is a warehouse that does house clearances, so sells everything, and a lot of it requires digging out of boxes. I have found some beautiful bowls, brass candle sticks and even boxes of crystals there.

BlankTimes · 03/11/2018 00:09

Oooh, Hares Grin love them all. One day I will remember to take a pic of my Moongazers and post it on here.

Attached colourful Hare image is by Katy Jade Dobson

I like the ones that are on crockery cushions, cards and prints right now too. like this one www.portmeirion.co.uk/royal-worcester-wrendale-designs-hare-glass-candle-chai-lime-blossom.html

I'm only just catching up with this thread, another one here who had cut her hand, I do love a good coincidence ;)

Work has been interfering with life this week, night shift and extra hours are taking their toll but I am looking forward to a long, over due, walk in the forest with DH and the dogs on Sunday.

speakout · 03/11/2018 07:13

Morning all, the most glorious sunrise here, but stormy, the wind is whipping up a howl.
I was thinking last night about the numbers who have joined us on this thread- I am guessing close to a hundred- maybe more. Who would have thought there were so many like minded people here.
And so many of us must feel alone in our thoughts, ways, practicing our craft.
It's lovely to see so many who have joined here.

OP posts:
Bellecose2 · 03/11/2018 08:30

Good morning everyone,

Yes, so nice to see so many new people joining the thread. It is, for me, a secret solitary study and I've often wondered how many of you are 'out' to your families /friends?

GruciusMalfoy · 03/11/2018 08:41

I could never be open about it. My family are mainly very religious. Those who aren't wouldn't understand why I feel the way I do. That's quite sad really, isn't it? I feel obliged to respect organised religion, but know the same wouldn't be said for my beliefs.

It's windy and rainy here, such a change from the crisp frost we had during the week. The good thing is, this'll mean a very quiet dog walk for me, most people I'd usually see seem to stay out of the wet, unless it is a quick wander around the park.

VioletCharlotte · 03/11/2018 09:00

Morning all
Gracious and Bellecose I can't be open with my parents and brother which makes me quite sad as I feel like I'm not being my true self then I'm with them. I'm lucky enough to have a lovely group of friends who I've met though various spiritual activities, and I can really be open with them which is lovely. Other friends and work friends, not so much!

I'm going to an open day at the spiritualist church today to help out, so looking forward to being around like-minded people and feeling their energy as it's been a difficult week. I may have a reading as there's a lot going on at the moment, I could do with some guidance.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

speakout · 03/11/2018 09:02

Bellecose2

As GruciusMalfoy it can be hard to be out and proud. The church has spread hate and fear towards paganism.
We are still dealing with that.

My OH is proud of who I am, is open to his colleagues and friends which is lovely. His family are also very supportive, and often seek my advice, I make healing balms, charms etc for them. They are great.
My own family are not supportive.
Very religious. A few view what I am doing as downright evil, they think I have been possessed by demonic forces.
Baptist/Pentecostal. I have to keep my activities mostly secret from them..

OP posts:
Elphame · 03/11/2018 09:17

I am very lucky I know not to have to deliberately conceal who I am. My family are totally atheist, my brother has moved from high church Anglican to a bit of a new ager!

Dull and grey here but no wind to speak of. First plans are to take the dog for a walk to the beach I think Then I have to pay for my weekend away here in gardening duties (staying with my parents for an event tomorrow)

Have a lovely day everyone

owlshooting · 03/11/2018 09:23

Blank I absolutely love that image of a hare!!

speakout · 03/11/2018 09:25

Wrong image sorry.

I've touched on this before but the word 'witch' changes everything. Healer, spiritual, energy worker, herbalist... generally ok and not much ridicule /fear. Bring the term witch and it's a different picture.

But I really believe people are more open now than they ever were. I don't recall seeing so much supernatural /psychic stuff on tv in the sixties/seventies. Maybe not even the 80s? It was hard to find information too. I love the Internet! Smile

.. So lovely you have the support of your OH speakout. VioletCharlotte, I've thought of attending a Spiritualist meeting it's good to know that you feel a belonging there. For the most part, I'm okay being secretive but we all need support from time to time don't we,?

@GruciusMalloy I like the wet windy weather for the same reason.

Elphame... Hope your socialising hasn't exhausted you too much? I always need time out after being around too many people, but then I guess it depends on who the people are and whether you're drained or invigorated.

Enjoy your weekends!
