Christian prayer thread for winter

Hello all! I just posted a long post on the old thread and realised it's full up, so just going to copy this here to sunshine - will try and do a roundup of other prayers too later. Everyone welcome here!

Just want to reiterate what Oma and Cocoa have said so well, sunshine. It's no wonder church feels like a hostile place and you freeze up. I feel so sad for you that that man did this to you. But Christ isn't the church , the church is supposed to be his body, reaching out hands of love and help and compassion, and sometimes they mess that up. Hugely. Sometimes evil crawls in. But that doesn't mean God's abandoned you. I love that Oma referred to the prodigal son, I was looking at Rembrandt's study of that parable the other day and so struck afresh by the father's absolute joy in his son being home, his grace in embracing him whatever he'd done. Sadly you've had a poor excuse for a father so it must be so difficult to frame God in the language of father for you but God is the father who loves you beyond your imaginings, who reaches out arms of compassion and forgiveness, who gathers you in and just loves you. Loves you so much, so, so much, without end. You can never do anything that will make God abandon you. Jesus said that he is with us always, even to the end of the age.

I know church is threatening, lovely, but there are a lot of people who would love to help, here on the internet and in real life. It's just a case of reaching out, but I know that must seem impossible right now. I've learned that God is a God of restoration, a God who longs to mend the broken places and devastations in people's lives. I've seen people set free from so much and believe with everything I am that God longs to set you free, too.

I'd love you to find some medical support. I'm so sorry your GP is so rubbish. More and more the case, sadly. I pray you can get in to see someone. Would you also consider some counselling? Like cocoa says, that doesn't mean they would take your DC away, just that they would want to support and help you. you sound a lovely mum and have done so well to get to this point. I'm glad you are reaching out here. Please take care and know God's love pouring over you by the Holy Spirit.

dd is still having dizzy spells.

We are all ok thanks. It's nice to be back and you have all been in my thoughts too. Hoping everyone is ok too.

bonkers day today... rushing around with child still not in school. collapsed again this morning. thing is I jkeep not seeing it so not sure what is going on.

Much love to all. I'd like to thank you for your annual lungs at Christmas prayers I've had a good week and been out lots, unheard of for me this year!

Now praying that you don’t overdo it MHD. So pleased you are feeling better.

I am ok in the aftermaths glow of the retreat. Lots to think about. No contact with church, apart from one lady who was bereaved earlier this year and who comes to visit once a week. Not as a representative of the church, but she keeps me up to date with the gossip.

about to collect ds. dd is lying on the floor upstairs as she is wobbly.

I had a call back from two people I have been trying to get hold of while I was somewhere else to do with the children.

Is it post concussion syndrome Bes? It eases after a while. Poor dd.

Prayers to you all. I've not posted for a while. Dad passed away in September and it's been tough, especially this time of year.
Now I've been recalled after a routine mammogram and have had further scans and a biopsy. Now awaiting results. Please pray for me.
And please pray that my mum finds some comfort at Xmas without my dad. She has us lot but not sure if that's a good thing or not

gym? who needs the sodding gym?

I am weight lifting up to 37 kilos.. supported entirely on my arms or shoulders...I will have legs like tree trunks.. (actually I already have legs like tree trunks but they will be more muscley than the current flab and cellulite. )

dd is having a wobbly phase, passed out completely after the drs. advice is rest and keep her safe.

I need prayer for endurance.

I am poorly with a coughy cold and a bit miserable, but with dd still collapsing all over the place... I am struggling, and ASD child thrown in the mix too...

I have phone calls to return.

Oh BES it does not get any easier, does it? Praying as ever.

I wondered what you had been up to until I saw about the chest pains. What was the outcome of that?

dd has had nine visits to and e and one admission. ds one trip to a and e and a follow up with the GP. one visit for me too. 11 visits since easter.

Adding my prayers. I'm on a two week wait for some health tests so trying to keep my spirits up and distracting myself. I'll be attending my new local church over christmas but will otherwise be alone. I'd be very grateful for prayers for health.
