anything..............???????????

3littlefrogs · 18/04/2007 09:26

If the church is round the corner, there should be a noticeboard outside with helpful info, including contact names and numbers. Why not wander along and have a closer look?

(Or have you already done this and there isn't any info?)

lulumama · 18/04/2007 09:27

i phoned the number that was listed for them, it was wrong

phoned directories, got a wrong number, there does not seem to be a direct line

i got a mobile number from ask.com for a contact there, left a message and no response

i think i will try a different church as they are too hard to get hold of

Sorry - I really wasn't insulting your intelligence - I just remembered that you were a bit nervous of contacting the church. I agree - maybe it isn't the right place for you. Try another one - once you get to speak to the superintendant or whoever, you will know whether they seem the right person to help. Good luck.

lulumama · 18/04/2007 09:39

no, i know frogs !! i woudln;t feel comfortable using this church, as they don;t even seem to have a listed number, there is one in st helens, which is about 30 mins from me...will try that one!

Must go to work now - will check back later.

3littlefrogs · 18/04/2007 09:45

Crossed post LM. Thats ok - happy to try and help, if it is something I know a little bit about! Hope TM gets sorted out asap.

daisyartichoke · 18/04/2007 20:38

Lulumama, i'm glad you haven't managed to contact your local spiritualist 'church'. Spiritualists contact the dead and involve themselves with spirits that are best left alone, asking a spiritualist to help you rid your house of an unwelcome spirit is like reporting a burglary to another burglar.
I will phone liverpool diocese office for you tomorrow to ask the easiest way for you to get help.

lulumama · 19/04/2007 07:25

right...thanks daisy.. really ? i didn;t know that ! eeeek !

see, i don;t do church, i am jewish, so this is all a bit new to me !

That is a very sweeping statement DA. I belong to a Christian Spiritualist church. The minister and his team are a wonderful group of people who do so much for the local community and have good relationships with other local churches. There is good and evil in this world and everything in between. Organised religion is not any different from the rest of the human race. For just one example: the Roman Catholic Church has some very good people in it, and it also has some priests who sexually abuse children. - That doesn't make all Catholic priests child abusers.

Some people naturally see and hear spirit - that doesn't make them evil. However, some people might use their gifts for bad purposes.

I don't want to start a big debate because I am at work ATM and can't stay on line, but honestly, I had a lot of spirit activity in my home, some of which was very scary, and the minister at my little church sorted it out for me with some lovely prayers, and it was fine.

muppethasakitten · 19/04/2007 13:22

Well said 3littlefrogs!

lulumama · 19/04/2007 14:07

oh dear

sorry ... i did not realise this was potentially controversial

as i said, i have no idea about this sort of thing, so don't know which way to go !!

3littlefrogs has offered sterling advice, but then Daisy's POV sounded scary !

sorry

I'm not a spiritualist but my mum is. I actually find your post somewhat insulting daisyartichoke.

Why for example did you feel the need to put the word church in inverted commas? You seem to be implying that it is not in fact a church at all. Would you do the same when referring to a church belonging to another faith - methodist, baptist or mormon for example?

fransmom · 19/04/2007 22:17

da!
boy, will you have a culture shock in store for you.

i agree with st.g your post is quite insulting i am fuming. i realise that everyone has freedom of speech but honestly - where do you get off insulting a nice bunch of people? one of my friends is a born again christian but i don't insult her and her beliefs like that, even if she thinks the same as you but it would seem that, unlike you, she has enough respect for other people to not insult them.

as for your comment that spiritualists are, in general, evil - HOGWASH!!!!!!!!! as stg also says there are good and bad in everything.

i am quite a spiritual person and i am a very nice person if i do say so myself. i do not raise the dead - just because the body is dead does not mean that the spirit or soul is - there is a law in phsyics that states: energy cannot be created or destroyed; only changed from onr form to another. like the "living" (for want of a better word), you can ask someone to talk to you if they would like to but if they don't then you can't make them.

lulumama you're okay sweetie just ignore da, everyone's entitled to their opinion but it doesn't mean to say that you have to listen to them!

lulumama · 19/04/2007 22:19

thanks so much stg and fransmom!

as it happens, a friend of a friend coming tomorrow, she has contact at the church and knows an excellent medium and is quite tuned to this sort of thing, so will see what she says

i am sorry if anyone has been upset by anything on here x

OP posts:
fransmom · 19/04/2007 22:26

can i hijack lm? in thought of what i'm going to say

well i was going to say something but thought better of it because i would then be insulting da and two wrongs don't make a right in any circumstance.

3littlefrogs · 19/04/2007 22:31

Well - there you are.... no such thing as a coincidence - this'll probably be the right medium for the job.

I will still ask my friend, haven't had a chance to phone her, but will try tomorrow, as it is a bit late for her tonight.

lucy5 · 19/04/2007 22:32

Wow Lulu,I have missed this. Have you been doing diy? this happened to dh's friend when they were knocking walls down in a very old house.

dumbymummy · 19/04/2007 22:34

Lula, it's your house and your ghost(s). Talk to them yourself. We're talking children here. Ask them what's wrong and what you can do, and the answer will come (probably in a roundabout kind of way). I'm baffled why you need a Christian (or any other denomination) to come help you. And involve your child ... if you want to. This is the stuff of life (and death).

Are you scared by them? Is that the problem, because if it is, and however weird, they're just people (once) looking for a little guidance.

SaintGeorge · 19/04/2007 23:13

Ah but the whole idea of doing the talking herself freaks lulumama out which is why we have suggested calling in someone who isn't freaked out.

The obvious place to look for that is the Spiritualist church. That doesn't have to imply a Christian as plenty of people of other faiths are also part of the Spiritualist movement.
