I know you're out there.

There's a lot of discussion on this board about things I don't beleive in at all. But there is not much about CHristian issues. Are you all totally sorted and have nothing to worry about, or are you all too busy elsewhere? Just interested to know who is about, and where you would place yourselves.

Both dh and I are Christians and we are bringing up our 3 children to understand our faith, we hope. We're in the Scottish Episcopal Church but don't fit in too well where we go (limited choice, we live on an island) as they are pretty liberal/traditional and we are on the evangelical side of the church. There are some local interdenominational groups which are quite good though. Our plans are to work through the church in Guatemala, not as traditional 'missionaries' but putting ourselves into the culture to live and work out our faith as we do at home.

Would love to hear form anyone else out there!!

Thanks for your replies - yes i am certian friends belive in orginal sin and use it an excuse to smack their child. Didn't mean to distract from your thread susanmt though! Still jealous about Guatemala - a Christian friend of mine (no children yet mind you) went there to work with street children and loved it. She wants to go back to work there.

Guatemala - we're planning to go initially in Feb next year, for 3 months of Spanish school and to meet up with the church that we hope to work with. Then our ideal would be to go for a few years starting in summer/autumn 2006. Of course, things don't always work out how we plan - we had plannned to go this summer for a few years but then I ended up having another baby (and the real chances of that were calculated by my doctor as being about 1:200 000 which we're happy to accept as God wanting her to be born!!) and so we had to accept that our timing wasn't God's timing on this. Hopefully by next Feb I'll be fully recovered form all my side effects of pregnancy (had a nasty time) and then we can go and have FUN!!
