LWTG - praying for you all! Hang in there! Just try to keep going, things WILL improve! {hug} and as CD says, don't stop posting here! {hug}

Hi CD

I'm completely mad. Having tried and failed last night to make a cake for the church bazaar (oven is playing up, cake not cooked properly in the middle!), I got up early and made 2 dozen little chocolate cakes (with chocolate and chocolate buttons on top! ).
Just finished decorating them, made a packed lunch, had a shower, ironed some clothes, and I've got to be out of the house in 20 mins for my training day and I've still got to get dressed and dry my hair! (why am I on here).

Praying for you all! God bless
Mary

texasrose · 02/12/2006 09:00

LWTG just want to let you know I'm praying for you and your dh and dcs.

Love and hugs. TR xxxxxxxx

CaptainDippy · 02/12/2006 10:03

lwtg - have been continuing to pray all morning - poor little DS with his rattly chest - hope the GP can give you something / suggest something to ease his discomfort. Winter is a tough time of year for asthma sufferers. My DD1 doesn't suffer with asthma, but she had pneumonia last year and her left lung is very weak, she finds this time of year so hard with all the cold air etc - Has been puffing round the house all month, poor love - So do have sympathy and understanding on that score!! [hugs]

Mary - GET OFF MN AND GET YOUR ARSE IN GEAR!!!! Hope study day and bazaar goes well - All hail to you for getting up early to make little cakes after the disaster - I have to admit, I would so have nipped out to Tesco, bought a cake, mashed it up a bit, stuck it in a tin and passed it off as my own handiwork!!

Hope you all have fab weekends - off to a Christmas Party soon. Hoping the DD's sleep afterwards so DH and I can get our head round some stuff ......

MaryBS · 02/12/2006 17:10

OK, guess who won the bottle of gin on the bottle stall? . I said "I would like the bottle of gin please", put my hand in and pulled the ticket out! Tony (the stallholder) reckoned I'd had divine intervention!

I was only 6 out on guessing the number of pickled onions in the jar as well, but that wasn't close enough! Shame, I like pickled onions .

Study day was OK. Most of what I'd prepared wasn't used. 1 lecturer was talking about how to study the OT, the other about the spiritual value of the OT. Very tiring...

MaryBS · 02/12/2006 17:15

Sorry LWTG - meant to ask how you are, and how today has been. Put it down to me being tired, not a lack of thought on my part!

CaptainDippy · 02/12/2006 18:37

Pickled Onions and Gin - Interesting combo Mary!!?

Has been an .... interesting .... day in DippyLand - DD1 reeeally is being a little monkey atm, very testing - Pleeeease pray she settles ok for bed tonight, was v.stressful for FIL last night and desperately don't want a repeat performance - lots of stuff to get done ..... Eeeeeeek ......

How are you lwtg?? [hugs]]

Oooooh, could you please hold my friend and her family in your prayers at this time?? Tomorrow is the Anniversary of her sister's death (1 yr) and she has also just had a baby, bit of a time for them all!! Thank you!

OP posts:
worzella · 02/12/2006 20:32

Well done CD for a really useful summary- I don't know how you find the time.... great news on the house front.

please continue to pray for our minister - he came out of hospital yesterday and it seemed the treatment had gone well, unfortunately he was re-admitted today with headaches as bad as before...

DS2 mouth is completely healed but he continues to prat around with his food - typical 2 yr old I guess but so frustrating... I'm trying now to ignore it when he just pushes it away

Prayers for everone too

longwaytogo · 02/12/2006 21:53

Thanks you guys you are all wonderful, I rang dh at one point today and decided I wasn't going to ring again as it was worse knowing that he was lying on bed and kids were looking after themselves 14 yr old in charge.

But when I got home at 9p.m he actually looks a lot better than he did when I left this morning.

Could I be really cheeky and ask for a prayer regarding transport. We have decided to pull out of the car that we were buying, as much as I love my fiat multipla having the gear box go on this one has proved that parts like that are just impossible to get hold of, so we going to go for a galaxy i think - even though I don't want to it makes more sense. so just pray that the right car comes along soon.

Again thanks for praying I'm sure its made a difference

harrisey · 03/12/2006 03:09

Ladies, thanks so very very much for praying for us, though I have not been around much!

Deadline day is drawing nigh - dh has 2 and I have 3 essays due by Mon 4pm. We have both already handed in our Old Testament one, and I have finished but not handed in my child development one. I have written 1700 (out of 2500) words of my one on divine healing. So if I do a bit tomorrow and all day Mon in the library I should be OK.

Then we both have another due on 11th Dec. Then its the holidays.

Dh is away wed-fri next week, then sat-fri the next. He is off 16th-27th dec, so we can have some time together, but the next couple of weeks are going to be a bit crap while he earns enough to pay the tax bill!!

So if you could pray we get our work done, that we get some time together as a family, that I cope with 3 children with him away (they're little, 6, 4 and 3), including school shows, assemblies, appointments and my driving theory test on Dec 14th!

I love you guys and have your prayer list on my noticeboard - I pray for you all while I am washing the dishes!

harrisey · 03/12/2006 03:17

Oh and Mary I just finished my OT course so if you feellke you need any help you have my email! We did the Law and the the Exodus/Entry narratives, and there is a lot in there (I was crying in some lectures it was so appropriate!!). I've got alot of notes so if you need anything I can send them on to you.

MaryBS · 03/12/2006 03:32

Hi Harrisey! What are you doing up at this time?

Thanks for your offer on the OT - anything you think would be useful would be great thanks - its all knowledge. As I demonstrated yesterday at the OT study day, my knowledge of the OT is sketchy to say the least! We're starting with Genesis and have been given some reading materials to go on with, while they sort out our tutorial groups. Part of the problem is that 4 of the people who MAY be starting with us, haven't been for selection yet, so we/they don't know whether they'll be doing it or not!

Praying that you get your work done! Sounds like you're doing fabulously though.

God bless

Mary

CaptainDippy · 03/12/2006 08:31

Hello sweeties!!

Interesting night - poor little DD1 woke up cos she was scared of the noise of the wind outside - I have to admit it was very loud, poor little thing!! She slept in our bed for a while, but we couldn't stand her wriggling and send her back to the nursery!! Feeling tired now ......

Continuing to pray for your Minister, Worzella - Sorry to hear he has been readmitted to hospital, please keep us up-to-date .....

Glad DH seemed brighter when you got home lwtg - How is he today? Continuing to pray, glad you feel our prayers have made a difference! Praying that the car sitaution is resolved quickly - I am hoping we can find the money for a new car before bubba is born, but seems unlikely - have to go for the "Miracle" option, I think!!

Good to "see" you harrisey - praying for you and DH as you do your essays etc and look after the children - you are very brave indeed - not much longer now!! How is your DH with the depression etc?? Praying for the driving theory, it is v.easy (especially compared to the essays etc you've been doing ) - You will be fine!!

Right, my children are summoning me, so had best obey ......

i havebeen attending church regularly after a lapse of 2 years where it was the traditional lapsed catholic easter xmas affair.

now i wondered whether you could all remember my family in your prayers things have been difficult recently for us.

MaryBS · 03/12/2006 12:22

Custardo - welcome!!! I'm an ex-Catholic myself, but please don't hold that against me!

Praying for you and your family, that you cope with whatever difficulties you have, together, and that you come through the other side unscathed.

LWTG - glad your DH is feeling brighter - praying this continues! Has he passed it on to my DH? He has been in a dreadful mood all weekend. Still is. Please pray for us, atmosphere is very tense, the children are picking up on it. He is completely stressed out with work, and taking it out on his family

CD - try and get some rest today darling!

longwaytogo · 03/12/2006 18:12

Evening all just checking in between carol services. Dh is not good he completly flipped his lid this afternoon when the garage told us we can't have the deposit back that we paid on the car I told them i'm going to trading standards they said carry on then.

I don't think I can do this - everyone is expecting me to be strong and get dh through this but I don't know if I can, feel so and low myself so how can I be his rock? Its so so hard.

Pray for safety tonight wind is awful we saw a tree being cleared off the road on our way back this afternoon so pray that we do the 16 miles to church and back safely.

I've done it all on my own today as dh has not been as he said he wouldn't. I know I can't do his faith for him but in reality am finding this very very difficult.

Sorry to rant on yet again. You must be fed up of me.

CaptainDippy · 03/12/2006 18:15

Rest - Ho! Ho! What's that!!?

I'll be glad to get the DD's in bed, gotta crack on with this blasted Christmas later .....

Custardo - I remember you popping on here before - good to "see" you again! I will definitely pray for you and your family as you are finding this tough atm. [hugs] Do feel free to "pop in" whenever you want - It is lovely to "see" you here!
