texasrose · 26/10/2006 11:23

GABD - one of my best friends at school was (and is) a Chrstian scienist. Pay for prayer????

sleepysooz · 26/10/2006 12:06

Please can I have a little support prayer for Health Visitor coming tomorrow am, to check on twins, re- my depression, frightened to death that I will crumble on her visit, or have a panic attack, I need to be strong!

nearlythree · 26/10/2006 12:37

Hi everyone. Still praying for you, the dcs are on the mend, thank God. I am at my lowest though, it is a ridiculous cliche but my heart is broken and I don't see any hope for the future. This should be the happiest time of our lives and instead it is my saddest.

harrisey · 26/10/2006 13:01

Wow, you are offline for a couple of days and this just keeps getting longer and longer. Dont have time to reply to all the things which are listed here, but I have read them and am praying.

In our morning worship at college today, we were singing 'Blessed be your Name' - all about choosing still to worship God in any circumstance - the words

'He gives and takes away,
He gives and takes away
My heart will choose to say
Blessed be your name'

I know it is just a paraphrase from Job, but it was immensely touching to me this morning and thought it might be to someone here too.

And could you pray for my painful sore throat and for dh - who has a very bad cough, and is not sleeping properlya s a result. And of course, he wont go to the doctor!!!!

longwaytogo · 26/10/2006 14:14

nearlythree get back to the gp, you are worth more than this. Don't sit and suffer, get the right medication and see what else they can offer you.

Sleepysooz Hv is there to support you - tell her how you feel, she will have heard it all before and may be able to offer you some help and support. (says she who has a visit off the hv at 3.p.m) funny isn't it she was on the phone 4 hours after i'd been to the gp.

We can do this girls. We can feel better, we will feel better. (soon)

Praying for the rest of you too have read just no time to reply individually.

I have even managed 20 mins with Bible and God today

Can you please also pray for alpha Holy Spirit Day on Sat. We have anything between 3-6 on our alpha course and are doing joint away day with other churches. Think I will be part of the prayer ministry too as there will only be me and another as the only women leaders.

Really feel that I need ministering too atm and the thought of having to pray for others just makes me feel totally useless as am in such a mess myself atm, but hey I guess it will be fine.

nearlythree · 26/10/2006 14:52

lwtg, thank you, but unless I get things sorted with dh no amount of meds are going to help. Either we start talking and we get back something of our old relationship or I will crack up.

sleepysooz · 26/10/2006 14:57

lwtg - thanks, this must be a regular occurance that the HV gets involved in patients with children, that have been diagnosed with depression! - makes me feel even more incompetent, even though I know its in 'my best interest' ooh sorry 'the childrens best interest'

Sorry sarcasm is ugly I know.

Well I had better get out of the house on this beautiful sunny but windy day, blow the cobwebs out and stimulate the children, it always ends up awful when I go out.

Take the pushchair, its too heavy now, walking 3yo twins pretty difficult when they decide to play up, on reins they are worse, run havoc at the library, can't go to the park,(not safe, no gate and on a main road) suppose HV will have an answer, afterall she hasn't got any children, (so she will know best)

ROARRRRRRRRR!

sleepysooz · 26/10/2006 14:59

Sorry for that post, I will try to keep my frustration under control!

sleepysooz · 26/10/2006 14:59

Be more Holy Sooz

sleepysooz · 26/10/2006 15:09

Will do, thanks sooz

mufti · 26/10/2006 15:42

sleepysooz - sounds like you still have a sens of humour anyway, chin up.
i find that each day is so different , and depending on how we are within we cope accordingly, yesterday , the trivial, semed insurmountable , and i was in floods of tears.
yet today i was rocking ds, and trying to wind him, (hoping that was the problem anyway), while he screamed, meanwhile the cat threw up on the carpet!.
and i just dealt with it, have to say that cat sick is horrible, and will affect me more than the smelliest poohiest nappy, so despite that, today is a good day

katzg · 26/10/2006 15:49

MaryBS - would be great to meet up when you are in Sheffield. PandaG and i live about 10mins walk from each other. do come and have coffee.

longwaytogo · 26/10/2006 15:53

right my turn to roarrrrrrrrrr now. Hv came 20 mins late, stayed 20 mins told me I need to get 'Her' as in dh mistress out of my head or i'm going to be bitter and twisted.

Told me that having had depression I was silly not to go to gp sooner, said I had lovely kids, a house, a relationship that was back on even kiel with dh and that I should make time for counselling ie. find friends to look after children and it wasn't impossible.

So how do I do that then, don't have many friends all their children are same age as mine and go to opposite nursery sessions to my dd in different nurseries.

Oh its sooooooooo easy isn't it when you are sat on the other side telling people what to do.

Anyway she had to go to see a breastfed baby that is loosing weight. Someone give me my old hv's back that were absolutely fantastic.

DumbledoresGirl · 26/10/2006 15:56

Just seen your last post LWTG. I had a GP who told me to get myself some help in the house after I had dd. She said if we had to go into debt to pay for a cleaner, it would be worth it for the rest I would have! Some people have no idea, have they?

longwaytogo · 26/10/2006 16:06

hmmm when i told her josh going to hosp for repair on 10th there was no do you need to know anything or i'll come and see you when he gets out, or is there anything your worried about.

Just feel very that I used to have fab hv and now although she nice she just doesn't do it for me.

weirdbird · 26/10/2006 16:14

LWTG ? HUGS, don?t know what advice to offer but have a Hug and I do understand on the depression front if not the others and I will pray xx

N3 ? HUGS again, you are in my prayers

mufti · 26/10/2006 16:39

lwtg - i know about depression too, any childminders you could use, to get time for counselling , even occasionally?

longwaytogo · 26/10/2006 16:52

Going to see a counsellor tomorrow but she only at surgery till end of oct. Could possibly squeeze some in while dd at nursery and ds at playgroup but a tight squeeze.

girlsAboysD · 26/10/2006 16:54

Ust typed a whole message and lost it. My mum says that you have to pay for prayer. She now is on the sofa trying to pray off a migraine. She says she is "relying on truth" and refusing paracetamol. This was like my childhood really, she was in bed and ill a lot because she refused to go to the doctor.

mufti · 26/10/2006 17:07

lwtg - do try , and hope it helps

gabd - i dont understand the pay for prayer thing.
god created people who can heal by prayer, and he created people who have become doctors , and if we need them we should use them, the same with medicine

girlsAboysD · 26/10/2006 17:14

I know I know, try telling my Mum that. It's the head and brick wall thing. Incidentally the lady that was so critical of my prayer news email has said that she would like to receive further updates so that she knows what to pray for. Obviously the polite approach worked. And some peole that REALLY upset me last week have apologised (and believe me that IS a miracle)
Praise Him for his grace and favour
to our Fathers in distress
Praise Him still the same as ever
Slow to chide and Swift to bless:
Alleluia,Alleluia
Glorious in His faithfulness

girlsAboysD · 26/10/2006 17:15

Long way to go
Have a

Praying for u

longwaytogo · 26/10/2006 17:26

MaryBS · 26/10/2006 17:32

LWTG - has that HV had ANY experience in what you've been through? Obviously not, otherwise she wouldn't come out with such stupid comments! . If everything was as easy as she seems to think, that would be wonderful, but she needs to take her rose-tinted glasses off!

GABD - maybe you should tell your mother this joke:

There was an old man sitting on his porch watching the rain fall. Pretty soon the water was coming over the porch and into the house.
The old man was still sitting there when a rescue boat came and the people on board said, "You can't stay here you have to come with us."
The old man replied, "No, God will save me." So the boat left.
A little while later the water was up to the second floor, and another rescue boat came, and again told the old man he had to come with them.
The old man again replied, "God will save me." So the boat left him again.
An hour later the water was up to the roof and a third rescue boat approached the old man, and tried to get him to come with them.
Again the old man refused to leave stating that, "God will save him." So the boat left him again.
Soon after, the man drowns and goes to heaven, and when he sees God he asks him, "Why didn't you save me?"

God replied, "I tried. I sent three boats for you!!"

Ooops kids killing themselves, will try to post more later...
