Great to hear QoQ's news!

Wedding went fabulously well.

CaptainDippy · 25/09/2006 07:30

Morning - Still feeling yukky and rough in DippyLand today. DH was up twice in the night and had sweat dripping off him, poor love. I'm loosing my voice and still got crampy, runny tummy. Yuk Yuk Yuk! Hoping DH decides to stay off work today, so we can all struggle through together like we did yesterday!

for QofQ and MaryBS - sorting stuff out with your DH's - wonderful news - you marriages are gifts from God - believe it!!

Oh Podmog, - what a nightmare for you, praying today is nt so bad nd you get through ok and you are all heaps better v.soon. [hugs]

Thought I'd do a separate post for this ......

Quite a random request, but I thought I would ask here before opening it up to the wider MN community .......

Basically, DH has a couple of days off at the end of this week. He was supposed to have the whole week off and we were supposed to be going to Cornwall. Without going into great big detailed explainations, the week away wasn't possible.

We are desparate to get away, just for a couple of days - we just need a break, a change of scenery etc - just for a little while.

I was wondering if any of you here on this thread had anywhere we could stay?? We would preferably like not to stray too far from East Sussex as we don't want to spend the whole time travelling and DD2 is hideous in the car -

We don't have much money - so something free or v.cheap would be ideal!!

I know it is a long shot, espcially with such short notice, but I thought it was worth a try - we are pretty desperate!!!!

Let me know asap - Thank you!

hi everybody. CD am so sorry I can't help... maybe there are some Christian websites that would offer you a place for you to have a break? Will try the net for you and see what can be done. I wish I could help ? hugs to you and let us know how you are getting on? no news on the house I take it? QoQ, so pleased for you . MaryBS glad things are better on the home front; this is great news . BigandStrong? had forgotten your new name!!!! sorry. Hope you are ok too. Another busy week ahead. Had a good weekend and dh is good! Meant to ask Marybs again re ? what do I do with your book? Send it back to you or forward to someone else? Praying for everybody and wishing you all a good week. Questions for you guys; do you know of Waverley house (I think) ? I think? It?s a Christian counseling centre and they also do bible teaching via a magazine, as well as a women?s magazine. Is it good? Also, planning our Xmas fair at church and wondered if any of you had any ideas of crafts bits that are successful at raising money? Can you pray for me this coming Sunday as have been asked in read in church? first time ever, feeling very nervous? is it God?s call for me to get more involved in church and giving me a kick up the backside to get on with studying the bible properly? Is it a sign? I feel something is happening inside but can?t put my finger on it. A lot of little things around our Church have been happening like the vicar coming to see us twice this week and chatting about the bigger picture. Also, very very exciting stuff? was asked to take notes at the pcc meeting 2 weeks ago and vicar said at the meeting that he feels the way forward for our Church is to do evening talks and invite guests speakers etc. I get the feeling that this is what He wants me to get into?. I just think that this year dh and I have been asked to help on so many things ?. Oh I don?t know?. As if our life was a mad puzzle for the last 3 years and that these last few months it is gradually coming together piece by piece and that our church has had a major role to play in it? am I making sense here or am I losing the plot?! and finally finally can you think of us in your prayers that we get to finish our flat soon and get internet at home. I feel I am letting you down here as hardly have time to write anything back properly to any of you although you are always in my prayers. Hope I?ll be able to catch up with you later. have a good week. Xxx

Nanou1 · 25/09/2006 11:20

thanks PandaG!!!! there must be something in the air. went to be late on fri and sat nights having had too much champagne.... rushed to church on sun am to discover - to my horror - that i was doing the little ones sunday school activity . did not know... and was feeling pretty tired and with a headache from the night before . somehow did not panick and confidently suggested we draw angels; we drew, glued and wrote about angels and it was such a success. the little ones were all smily faces and happy! and i felt i was watched over and guided... strange but not spooky feeling... don't know how to describe it...

texasrose · 25/09/2006 20:07

HI everyone!
Sorry I've not posted for a few days.
Sorry you're feeling rotten, CD. Babies, eh? It will be worth it when you hold your precious bundle in your arms...makes me gooey just thinking about it!

Hi Mary! Glad you're bouncy and Spirit-filled! Go and give it away to as many people as you can!!!

Well I'm here on my own as dh is in Australia, lucky thing. I'm starting to really miss him now (sigh) and dd (aged 4) is starting to ask when Daddy's coming back (the answer is not this coming Sunday but the next).

I've got a(nother) prayer request...could you please pray for me at work? I'm in a sticky situation with the other lady I work with...I work in a secondary school library. It's all a bit petty really but she was told that she was my manager whereas I was told that we were an equal team doing the same job. This has led to lots of misunderstandings and her feeling v. intimidated by me (I'm not really scary, honest, but I feel like a bull in a china shop). I realy like the job and really want it to work out well but the other woman is really hurt now because she feels like she's been demoted and she's talking about leaving. We work in a school which is in a very needy part of town with complicated family set-ups and lots of deprivation of every type. A lot of staff here leave after short times because it is tough but the kids need stability and I do feel a deep sense of wanting to give that to them...so I really don't want it all to go belly-up. My prayer has been that in my attitude and the way that I speak and work, Jesus will be reflected and glorified. I'm certainly not seeking to build my own little kingdom in the library (!) but my heart's desire is to build the kingdom of God. Please add your prayers to mine!

See yas all soon...

CaptainDippy · 25/09/2006 21:51

On to it, TR! xxxx

Praying, texasrose.

Things came to head with dh over the weekend. We will have to see what happens. Am still really not sure where this is going.

MaryBS · 26/09/2006 08:26

N3 - praying for you and your DH. Seems to have been a weekend of that sort of thing.

Texasrose, praying for your work situation. Her pride has taken a knock - is there any way you can boost her without doing yourself an injustice? Hoping and praying its all just talk and you can resolve things and together do good for your school.

Better go - kids killing each other...

God bless, all. I'm still bouncing... you would not BELIEVE the difference there has been in my life the last 6 months. Praising God for he has been so good!

poor podmog... don't know what to suggest. all i would say is He knows the truth. i suffered from an "injustice" at work once and it was awful... i was accused of giving out some extra confidential information to a member of staff when i was PA to a big time chairman in a huge corporation. i could not "defend" myself against the management who could just not trust me anymore and all i could do was pray that truth be known. it took 6 months but the Lord answered my prayers. the person who hurt me was found out by her own "fault". it was very very hard for 6 months but in the end the big bosses made up for the unfairness of the situation and i got higher esteem from them because of the way i handled the situation and my honesty/integrity. but it was very hard. sorry i can't help but i shall pray for you. if we all pray for you maybe things will happen quicker and you won't need to tell the new vicar. thinking hard on this one, i think i would let him make his own mind up - i truly believe Truth will always win over evil.

Twiga · 26/09/2006 10:24

Just a quick one, will catch up properly later - dd and I not well just now, some viral thing I think - sore head, fevered and achey! Also am trying to sort out my nappies with Tots bots - have bamboozles that were nippa - not working need to get aplixed, some are smaller than others part of a bad batch but because I bought through third party need the third party to sort out. All bit conplicatedas nappies may just be outside the 6 month garentee period - need to stay paitient and calm and hope that everyone is willing to be nice about this as at the end of the day the product is faulty and needs sorted.

Love to all x

Nanou1 · 26/09/2006 10:40

poor twiga. there is something going around i am sure... i know of so many people not well at the mo. praying you and your dh get better soon. x

PandaG · 26/09/2006 11:31
