September Already!!? MN Christian Prayer Request Thread Take 6!!

Hello one and all!

September already!!? (Well nearly ....) Good grief!? Where does the time go????

Here's a brief summary of August's Prayer Requests.........

katzg - Desperately looking for a new job, has been having interviews - so hopefully something will come up soon please God!!? Contract for current job has been extended to Oct 31st. PiccadillyCircus - Has a difficult decision to make - would like prayer for strength to make the right decision.

MaryBS - On-going prayers as she has commenced her Reader training. Prayers for motivation in her studies etc Prayers for her relationship with her mother. Her 1st sermon is on Oct 1st. Prayer requests for a 15 year old boy who died of a suspected asthma-attack on youth pilgrimage this summer and for non-Christian lady she knows who has been to see a Specialist about a lump in her breast (do we have any more on that Mary??) On-going prayers for DH's nephew who is having a very rough time with his parents who adopted him and are not sure whether they would like to keep him or not etc. Finally, praise and prayers for bro and SIL who have been approved for the adoption of two little girls!! Praying the adoption goes smoothly and that God blesses them as parants and as a family.

Catj - DD4 has been very poorly, last we heard she was on the ward and still fighting (11th Aug). God Bless you little one!

Xavielli - Got engaged!! Prayers as she starts to make marraige preparations for next July. Has been feeling very down receently - needs lots of [hugs] and prayers. Lots and lots going on in her life - stresses with young children and untidy house, DP's bro staying and slight computer game addiction which is being dealt with atm. Also prayers for friend's mum who has cancer which has spread.

Nanou1 - Prayers for cousin's children who are coping with their parents' divorce. Prayers for her swollen tummy, which has bee causing her a lot of discomfort. Lots of prayers for DH who is trying to find a new job. He had a job interview yesterday (30th Aug), which he thought went well - pray he gets a 2nd interview. Sorting out the house after burglary while they were away on holiday.

NASWM - Has been really struggling recently - very low. Lots of [hugs] and prayers her way.

longwaytogo - Prayers for her nan who has a wound on her arm which is not healing. Praying lots for the "ghosts of the past" to be completely over-come by God's love and care for her and her special family!!

Podmog - Has 20 week scan today (31st Aug) - worried about it - prayers it goes really well and all is fine with LO. Also prayers for doctors / nurses / midwifves etc reaction to current NHS "over-weight" issues! On-going prayers for difficult situation at church involving one couple. Praise God that DS is sleeping better - praying that Podmog gets lots and lots of nice sleep too!

Twiga - DH's Uncle died - Prayers for family and friends and they deal with grief - Praise for the good life he had! Praise God for fantastic Holiday Club Twiga has been involved with - prayers for those children as they go off back to "normalilty" - praying that they stuff they have learned will stick with them all their days!! Praying for her driving lessons and for her DH who is studying for exams. Prayers for friend who lost a baby at 16 weeks and would be due around now. Pray that Twiga would know best how to support her.

Yorkiegirl - Her DH Nigel died while on holiday with them this Aug. Prayers that they would be so strong as a family and that God would be so very close to them at this time. Praying so much for them all as they cope. [hugs] and love. xxxx

MarsLady - Prayers for mouse problem in her house! Prayers for her as she completes her Doula training and tackles her OU essays - praying she'll remain as unstressed as poss and sail through!! Prayers for finances as a family as studies come to an end etc. Praise that her friend Dave is going from strength to strength (has been back at work a little!) Prayers for friend (Simon) who has been in a medically induced coma - they were due to try and wake him up soon - prayers it went ok and the damage is not too much. (How is he???) Also prayers for "J" whose DH has just told her their marriage is over, they have a 2.6 yr old.

weirdbird - WELCOME!! Lots and lots of prayers needed for weirdbird's little unborn babe. She has been having contractions and is so scared little one is going to come before he/she is ready. She is nearly 24 weeks, which is the point at which they can intervene (Praise God!!) Pray that LO stays in long enough to be ok!!

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - Popped in! DS2's excema is much better - Praise God! Doing ok in her household!

moretenaanyone - Prayers for friend who has died. He was in his 30's and he leaves behind a widow in her 20's.

tjacksonpfc - Her DP died of bowel cancer earlier this year and she is missing him so much. She has two very young daughters and is struggling. Strength and love to them all. xxxx

AngelJay - WELCOME!!!

Sleepysooz - WELCOME!! Prayers as she puts her twins in the same bedroom to sleep on their own for the first time! Eeeek!

Tawny75 - Prayers as she goes for an appointment with her consultant about her eyes this morning (31st) Please let us know how it went and what he/she said!

SaggarMakersBottomKnocker - Prayers for friend of her DD who has died following an incident with an air rifle.

Sharpe2626 - Prayers for her sister and BIL as they deal with the still birth of their little girl a couple of weeks ago. xxxx

IdristheDragon - Prayers for friend's wife's dad. He has bowel cancer and has recently had an operation (25th Aug) Any more on this Idris??

PandaG - Prayers for a horrid stye she has on her eye! [hugs]

SoLucky - Lots and lots of prayers as she makes the terible decision about what to do about the twins she is carrying. One twin is fine and healthy, but the other has suspected Edward's Syndrome. So much strength and love to that family. xxxx

nailpolish - Prayers for as she is coming out of the otherside of a very difficult decision and situation.

footprint - Still feeling very low, anxious and depressed. Strength and Love to you honey!! xxxx

CaptainDippy - Praise God!! for her pregnancy (due end of April next year) and that things are actually happening with regards to buying her own house!! God is good!! Praying that the ideal house would come along and that the sale would progress quickly and smoothly!! (Is this asking too much!!!!!?) Prayers as she approaches driving test date. Prayers for relationship with PIL, especially MIL who is driving her completely mad atm!!!!! That's all for now!!

good morning everybody. sorry it has been quite mad this week! Have been trying to keep up and you are all in my prayers. can't wait for us to get a pc at home... but sadly cannot be on the top of the priority list i am afraid... N3 praying for you and dh.... surely this is a sign that he wants things to get better too? keep strong. men are notoriously crap at talking about feelings... mine has to be one of the worst... pandag... i wish i was going to bible study . looked to go to a lunchtime one but nothing local to work ; isn't that a bit strange? nevermind! texas you need some "me" time... it is so important... oops duty calls!!!

Evening! Oh my goodness, I am soooo tired!! Just woken up from a wee nap!!

Nearlythree - Oh, you poor honey. Ditto to all the great stuff that has already been said. Praying that you and DH would find your "way" in all of this - praying that God truly blesses your relationship and enables you to "find" one another again. Praying that this night out toegether is a real starting point for you both - Praying you have a lovely time and can be open and honest with one another. Feel free to come on here to chat about stuff anytime - you know where we all are and you know that we are thinking of you and praying for you lots!! I think a lot of men and women lose their way once children come into the equation. I miss my DH soooo much sometimes - definitely a lot more strained and ratty than we were BC (Before Children!) Also praying for your friend as she struggles to deal with the death of her DS. How incredibly tragic and sad. Praying God would comfort them at this time - Praise the Lord for the wee life growing in her womb, may it be a huge comfort to her. To lose a child. Incomprehendable. Praying for DH's schoolfriend too. You've got a lot on your plate atm. [hugs]

Just spoke to C, my friend whose Mum has cancer/sister had miscarriage!..... THE BABY IS ALIVE! Apparently it was a stupid error on the part of the sonographer! Baby is perfect. GOD IS GOOD! WOOHOO!!!

marybs - its years since I even heard vicarage garden party, I used to go as a little girl, they bring back lovely memories, I was about 6 years old and used to paint crosses on stones to sell and make felt 'gonks' and bake buns and .... oh lovely memories, ours got too big or weather problems that we resorted to the local village hall, but its never been the same since! oh happy days! xxx

Update:

Simon... not looking good. They think that there is brain damage. They've looked a different things to see why he won't come out of the coma and this is what they are thinking. The boys are a mess, his wife is really and truly at the end of herself. His mother... well I'll need prayer for forgiveness if I talk about her.

Me.... essay done and dusted and sent off. It's worth 25% of my course. I start my revision on Monday (taking the weekend off). Pray that I get organised and I don't just lark about and leave it till 11th October (day before exam).

No news yet from Dave. Keep praying that when he has his scan all will be well and that he doesn't pick up any infections.

So very sorry to hear this latest nes about Simon. Praying fo rstrength and grace for his family as they come to terms with this --- especially for his mother!

I came online to tell you about my exams. We were asked the 4 hardest questions, but both dh and I had anticipated that, so we were prepared. We both think we have passed. Last nigh tout church had an intercesson and worship evening for the children and youth ministries and I went as a parent of 3, to pray for them. In the middle of it I really heard God saying the words from Isisah 'I have summoned you by name .. you are mine" and all the worry of the exams was over then (yes, OK, I am a bit of a weirdo charismatic!!).
Results Thursday or Friday next week.

harrisey - thats good news re: the exams/worship evening at all. I don't think its weird at all to admit to hearing God! How else is he going to call us?

Praise God heard the other day about a friends friend who started going to church with her and woke at 4 the other morning and gave her life to God. How good is that!!!!!

Praise God indeed! I'm usually 'giving my life to God' at that time too! What tends to happen is, if I wake around 2ish, I'll get up for a couple of hours then go back to bed. If its after 4 I get up and stay up. Its such a peaceful time. I get my thinking/praying/studying/surfing done then. I feel very close to God at that time.

I do get pretty tired by the evening - sometimes I'll go to bed around 9pm. But generally, it works fairly well, particularly when there are deadlines. I have to admit I've struggled with my studying, so if anyone can tell me why Paul wrote Romans (preferably with websites I can reference) or about Eternal Life with particular reference to 1 John, I'd be grateful. I think I know how I'm going to write my sermon, which'll be in a couple of weeks.
The garden party went well, but I'm absolutely shattered. I was making scones at 7am, then we were at the Vicarage from 9:30am - just got back. M. introduced me to 2 new parishioners, said I was the trainee reader, but that I wasn't house trained. Quick as a flash I said "but I'm house of God trained!" LOL.

Marsy - praying for Simon and Dave. Nothing's certain - we can just commend them to our Lord. Sorry, meant to pick up on this before.

haven't posted this problem before but could do with prayers for dh. He needs surgery on his shoulder, it dislocates really easily and he is always in agony with it.

Saw consultant the other week now on waiting list but it is about 6/9 month wait, with no guarantee that that particular surgery will sort it out may need further surgery after initial It affects him it affects us and it affects the dc. Just fed up of seeing him in constant pain.

Plus I don't do watching him be ill very well at all, I get narky, dispondant, doubting etc etc (all stems from past med probs when he became addicted to over the counter meds) so please pray that this surgery comes quick, know i'm being selfish but feeling really fed up about it all.

I should be in bed can't type properly.

Hello there!! Things are rather strained in the Dippy Household atm - think the devil's attacking us from all different directions. DH and I are exhausted - think he is preggers too!!!!! FIL was in a major grump yesterday - having a go at us (mainly poor DH) all the time, about anything. He does this about once a month - pents up all his little grievances and then just explodes - any tiny little thing can just trigger it off - makes it very scary to live with him. Praise God we are (God willing) moving out relatively soon. Please pray for protection over DippyLand - DH and I are struggling, but clinging to the Promises we know God has for us.....

Mars - So pleased the essay is done and handed in, praying as you studying for exams. May God grant you a clear head and understanding and some time to rest in Him etc. Pleased that Dave is doing so well - praying that no infection comes to ruins things and he continues to improve. Awww CD, sounds like the men in your house ARE pregnant! Or at least they've got PMT (M. calls it Post Marital Tension!). Praying for God's peace and love to descend on your house - you focus on the day when you have your own house. Start thinking about how you want to change it to make it your own. It is SUCH an exciting time for you!
Texasrose - hope you got your lie-in. I hardly ever get a lie in, my problem is the opposite - getting up too early! Its really peaceful here at the moment, just me up (thank God!), I can really feel close to God at this time - a good time for prayer and to listen for Him. See, I've added my thoughts to the bashing thread - this is what I will use to close my sermon in 2 weeks, I think.

lwtg - praying for healing for your DH. Its debilitating when you have a constant nagging problem like that. Praying for God to support you so that you may be a rock of strength for your DH.

quick one before work - please pray my dd survives the day she not been well all week really but now her neck is really hurting and a bit swollen. I need to go to work so a quick healing would be good ta x
