Hello there!!

"Never doubt that a community of thoughtful, committed women, filled with the power and the love of God, using gifts they have identified and developed, and pursuing passions planted in them by God - never doubt that these women can change the world"

Need I say more (thanks for that quote MaryBS!)

Well, here's a summary of July's requests - Do update if you can!!

MaryBS - Prayers for her mum coming to terms with her vocation. Been having vivid dreams and would like for them to stop (have they?) DH's nephew was adopted at the age of 3 and is now exhibiting some bad behavioural problems, mum and dad asking about "giving him back" etc. Very difficult situation. Prayers for study etc as she undertakes the course to become a Reader at church. Difficult situation regarding the church hall needs to be resolved. DD has a class mate who keeps hitting her etc, MaryBS unsure of how to handle the situation. Lots of prayers for non-Chiristian DH as he becomes more involved in church life (YEY! ) Prayers for situation between Vicar and a member of choir and finally prayers for a friend who has been meeting with Social Workers re: possibly adopting today! Pudmog - Feeling nauseous still (16 weeks PG, due on Jan 17th) and has chest infection. longwaytogo - Ongoing prayers for her DD's health problems, especially for her as she attends Allergy Clinic on Aug 31st Prayers too for her nan and grandad who were involved in a car accident; although they were not seriously hurt, they are battered and bruised and coming to terms with the shock of it all. Lots of prayers for her friend who is going to adopt a little boy - they are meeting up for the 1st time very soon!!

JessicaandRebeccasMummy - DH had another operation on July 5th - Is going to be discharged from the army very soon, lots of prayers for them as a family - finding new job, home etc etc.

Nanou1 - DH didn't get job in the end. Feeling very and right now - lots of prayers needed for reassurance and acceptance - and for another to job to come up very soon!! How did DD do in France Nanou1 btw??

TigerT - DD had to have another op on her head on July 6th as wound was becoming infected - praying that her little DD is ok, the infection is gone and she is on the road to recovery.

footprint - Struggling with depression and anxiety - has been doing better and was last seen going off on her hols with her family! How are you doing honey??

katzg - Didn't get job , but is feeling positive and praying hard that another job opportunity will come up soon as her contract on her current job runs out on Aug 31st. Also prayers for her DD who is under Consultant care for the skin condition Cutaneous Mastocytosis.

PandaG - Currently off on lots of hols - so praying she is having a lovely time! Her youth leader who had cancer died and the service was a beautiful tribute to her.

CatJ - DD4 is still in hospital and is improving, but she is going to require lots of ongoing prayers as she is going to spend quite a bit of time in hospital over the coming weeks / months etc .... Lots of prayers for all the LO's that DD4 is in hospital with.

Sooo glad the decking's gone well so far lwtg - hopefuly you'll get it completed today - Well Done you!!

Mmmmmmm, all's still hectic in DippyLand - been to see quite a few houses so far (poss 9/10??) - some are definite "no, no's", but there's been 4 "possibles" so far - It is sooooo hard to decide what is most important. May be you guys can give me some advice etc?? I'll give you a brief run-down of the "possibles" .....

1.) Beautifully decorated, wouldn't hardly have to do anything to it, really gorgeous kitchen - yum! Crappy tiny third bedrom and pretty tiny garden that was completely decked (could rip it up and put down grass though?? - No offence intended lwtg!! )

2.) Really great living space - all great sized rooms, nice big kitchen and bathroom - four bedrooms!!!! Three floors - needed completely redecorating and new kitchen / bathroom - no garden whatsoever

3.) Nice light house, good living space, four bedrooms, reasonable garden, conservatory / play room - needed completely redecorating and v.small kitchen / bathroom.

4.) Lovely downstairs, gorgeous kitchen, v.small garden with no grass. Loved the downstairs, but upstairs was all chopped and changed and a bit weird - selling as four bed, but really three with v.small 3rd room. Tiny bathroom, but could be extended - loft could definitely be converted.

Argh!!!! I just don't knoooooooow - Any suggestions all you home owners with little people? Prayers most appreciated!!! Thank you!!

Still can believe I'm PG - have baaaad wind - belly already big (had to undo trousers when out for meal last night ) Very excited - 12 week scan should be 2nd week in Oct - need to book in with midwife sooooon!

Lots of Love and Prayers to all - New thread coming sooooooon - promise!!

cd when we were looking at houses for it was about as much space as we could buy with the money. tbh internal decoration you will probably change over time anyway so don't look at decoration its not the most important thing and you will get really frustrated if you've got beutiful decoration but are squabbling for space. I would agree that you need a garden with 3 very little ones.

So for me it would be house no 3 even though the kitchen bathroom are tiny. I know trying to fit yourself and three little ones in a tiny bathroom is a nightmare but we just used to dry our lo's in the bedroom or living room and at the end of the day you don't spend loads of the day in the bathroom do you. Kitchen sounds a bit more difficult to conquer is there any way it could be extended in the future?

It sounds like everything you need. Is it on rightmove? can you link to it?

We have lived in 10 houses in 14 yrs so thats my criteria hope it helps.

Basic decoration doesn't have to cost a fortune either.

longwaytogo · 28/08/2006 08:19

oh aye no offence taken at the decking although we have jsut decked a huge area we also have huge amount of grass a drive big enough for 3 cars etc so not all decked

CaptainDippy · 28/08/2006 08:40

Wow lwtg - I am in awe of your big grass, drive and deck!!

Thank you for your opinion - No 3 does seem to be winning so far, but it is coming a close 2nd to No 2 - Mmmmmmmmm........

I'll try linking in a bit, have to go and deal with girls now ....

ours is an ex council house and its a corner plot that next to the cemetry so hence loads of garden.

CaptainDippy · 28/08/2006 09:06

No 3 is ex-council as well - the kitchen could poss be extended - need to get an opinion.

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 28/08/2006 09:09

ohhh but cd no garden, could you cope? I couldn't. Is there any way no 4s bedrooms could be chopped and changed? as for loft conversion would prob cost about £15,000 but as my dd said the other day when we were thinking about converting loft - 'stairs are about £100 for nice white ones. When asked how she knew that she said well I build houses all the time, we looked at each other with confused look. For her then to explain that they are sims houses. {sigh} at teenage kids

weirdbird · 28/08/2006 10:51

Hi

Thanks for your prayers, they've stopped again, so all quiet on the downbelow front!

Was meant to be at a friends party on Sat, but sent DD and DH anyway as Megan was the only little one and they had planned certain things for her, and she was very excited about going, so sat at home while they all partied, but my other friend who often comes and stays with us for the weekend bopped up yesterday to keep me entertained which was very nice of her!

CD - When we bought last year, our priorities where a 3rd bedroom that wasnt poky and big garden, we ended up taking on a huge DIY project because it was the perfect house, just hadn't been updated for a while and the people before had had there taste chips removed (brick effect MDF stuck to the walls!!).

Dont look at the decor, if you can live with it for a short period of time you can easily redecorate and nothing beats the extra floor space at the end of the day!

CaptainDippy · 28/08/2006 18:37

Cheers weirdbird - I do have to agree!

Went to see another place today and it had a 250 ft garden!!!!!!!!!!!! It was gorgeous - unfortunately, house was teeeeeny Room for extensions - opinions???

Sooooo pleased contraction have stopped again WB - Praise God!!!!

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 28/08/2006 19:36

Could you afford to extend or was the house at the top end of your mortgage amount? I would have to agree about floor space though the room is defenatly better than the decor.

Morning!!

How is everyone doing?? All ok in the Dippy Household, DH has gone back to work after a week off so getting back into the swing of things again. Feeling a bit queasy, but not too bad, got that "feeling really hungry, but do not want to eat" PG thing, which is horrid.

lwtg - the house with the 250 ft garden is at the lower end of our budget, but I am not sure that even a two storey extension would improve the living space, so I'll think we will forget it - much as it pains me!!

DH's parents came back from holiday last night and were immediately confronted by our "new baby, new house" news, I think they are still in a state of this morning!! DH's mum was reeeeeally pleased about new baby - couldn't really tell how dad felt - mmmmmm - They were delighted at house news thought and are hopefully going to look round the "possibles" with us on Friday - would be good to get another opinion ...... So things are happening - head is spinning!!

Glad you are doing ok Podmog honey - 20 week scan - how exciting!!!!! Doesn't seem like yesterday you announced you were PG and now you are half-way through already!!!!!! Hope LO let you know whether they are a boy or girl - do let us know!!! Great news that church have asked you to play and sing - praying still for the akward situation with the couple in your church. [hugs]] Praying about your sleep issues too - glad DS has decided to start sleeping through - just praying the LO in your tum allows you good rest as well.

Oh, would be very cool if you could pray about my feelings towards my PIL - I love them to bits, but have very big certain "issues" with them esp RE: childcare for the girls (loooong and complicated!) Pray for patience and understanding -

Hello all

Just been trying to catch up, been away since Thursday.

Great news CD re mortgage - praying that you find the right house really soon. We were trying to sell our first house for 6 months, were getting really fed up, then our house had an offer on it the week that a 4 bed house came up in exactly the area we wanted - and 4 bed terraces are really rare round here - it was so God's timing - praying that it will be for you too.

Sooz - how is the sleeping going.

Glad to hear the contractions have eased Weirdbird will continue to pray for you.

Love to you all.

MarsLady · 29/08/2006 11:06

OK... another request.

Just heard from my friend that her husband is in a medically induced coma.

Short version of very long story:he's had problems with his brain for a while and went into remission. He has had occasional funny turns. They were away in the Lake District when one morning he woke up completely crazy. Spent the entire holiday in a hospital in Lancashire. Finally got sent home and ended up in the Royal London hospital. Had an op, artery was nicked and has now been placed in medically induced coma for the next few days whilst his brain settles.

Please pray. He has a wife and 2 sons. Thanks.

Nanou1 · 29/08/2006 11:12

morning all! got back last night and have started catching up with the hundreds of posts - nice to see the team has expanded over the last few weeks; girls power . can't be long since am at work... congrats CD so for you. did not manage to get to pc whilst on hols since kids hijacked it all the time!!! dd had a great time with french and british cousins over the last 2 weeks. our hols were spoilt when we received a phonecall last weekend to say we had been burglared. could not come back earlier cos of family reunion day before yeasterday and also our 12th wedding anniversary with french family. got home at 10 last night to see some of the disaster since dh forced me to stay in the car until it looked less shocking. most of our jewelry has disappeared; of course the most important pieces of sentimental value like engagement ring, family heirlums etc... am so angry and sad... when is our bad luck going to stop????? anyway can't stay. you have all been in my thoughts lots but did very general prayers for everybody since could not access pc. and thanks a million cd - got the book last night. was too tired to start it. have a good day all. god bless. x

CaptainDippy · 29/08/2006 14:19

Definitely need to start a new thread - I'll got on to it asap!

Oh Mars, so to hear about your friend being in a medically induced coma - praying so much that he would recover quickly - praying for strength for his family - have they any idea what caused it?? How old are his children?? So God be with them. xxxx

Oh Nanou1 - Soooooo sorry to hear about your house being burgled - how completely devestating. You must be feeling so and so I just do not know what to say - I am glad you had a lovely time away and I am just sorry that you have to come back to this. [[hugs]]] Guess you will have to go through the rigmarole of insurance claims etc?? More [hugs]] Praying for strength and wisdom. xxxx

Well, I'd best get on with stuff - see you all later. xxxx
