"By this love you have for one another, everyone will know that you are my disciples": Christian Prayer Thread for April

I thought it was about time we started a new thread, seeing as the previous one now has over 600 posts, making it difficult for some people to load it and navigate around it. I used the quote from John 13. 15 that I posted on the previous thread on Maundy Thursday, because I think it sums up what this thread - and this group of people - is all about.

We pray particularly at this time for RoomForALittleOne: that her baby hang on where s/he is for as long as possible and continue to grow in size and strength, and that Room stay well and as pain- and stress-free as possible. Prayers, too, for the medical team looking after them both at this worrying time.

We pray also for:
amberlight ? for her work raising awareness of ASDs, and for her friends who have cancer;
BabyBeatrice and her family ? for continued healing and with thanks for recent good news;
BlackEyedSusan ? for strength to cope with all the many things on her plate, for health for her mum, and for happier times at school for her DD and DS;
BlueTinkerbell ? for work possibilities and for her vocation;
charlottecollinsislost ? for a peaceful holiday, despite the circumstances, and for as pain- and recrimination-free a separation as possible for the sake of all concerned;
Dontsteponthemomeraths ? for her as she dips her toe back in the 'dating pond'; for her ?LM? as he tries to establish contact with his children; for her brother to regain full use of his thumb, following an accident;
DutchOma and Bob ? for health for Bob, and for Oma to feel supported as she cares for him day-to-day; also for Oma's planned trip to Holland;
GingerCurl ? for the successful and (relatively) stress-free completion of her thesis;
HavingALittleFaithBaby ? for as easy a time as is possible during these last days and weeks of her pregnancy;
jann2013 ? for strength for her following the break-up of her marriage, and for her dd who has badly broken her arm;
Kaykat ? for her and her DS to know peace and happiness as they emerge from an abusive relationship, and for the legal issues to be sorted out quickly so that they can get back into their own home;
MadHairDay - for strength as she lives with chronic illness and for the Spring to bring her better health;
MaryBS - for peace and happiness following a difficult situation at Scouts with her DS;
PositiveAttitude ? for her mission overseas and for her family both over there and back here, especially her DD1;
...and for all who post on this thread, for those who lurk, for occasional visitors, and for those known to us who are in need of prayer, whether mentioned here or not.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

Just heard that Bluebaby's temperature is down, but still clingy and a bit poorly. Thank the Lord for answered prayer.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/06/2013 14:48

good news DO.

I am off to see the teacher in a few minutes.

eek.

jan13 · 11/06/2013 15:18

thinking of you all, hoping for a speedy recovery for Blue's beautiful baby.

thinking of you too room.

dd was up literally all night last night teething. been feeling low so i went to docs today and it looks like my heath has went pretty downhill the last 2 months. thank you for encouragement to get near to god ive been trying, i still don't feel anything but i am trying to tell myself its more than feelings

BlackeyedSusan · 11/06/2013 22:38

when you are tired, you are less likely to feel stuff... does not mean he is not there with you.

I hope you are sleeping now!

the meeting with the teacher went well. hoping the fall out from the head will not be bad. he assumes that all she does is learn. Hmm not got much idea about children like dd then, nor children with autism.

Tuo · 12/06/2013 00:41

Praying for you BES, for Room, for Jan and for Blue. Off on my travels tomorrow, so may be offline for a bit, but will keep all of you in my prayers.

OP posts:
BlackeyedSusan · 12/06/2013 07:45

prayed for safety tuo. I will miss your nightly updates.

BlackeyedSusan · 12/06/2013 13:53

please pray for wisdom in communictions with school.

Dutchoma · 12/06/2013 13:54

Will do BES

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 12/06/2013 17:04

Please pray about my relationship with DD. She's very over emotional at the moment for a variety of reasons, I find it hard to have 1:1 time with her and I think I handle it wrong when she gets worked up. I think also as DS is so high needs, I often expect her to just manage and it's starting to show at School and home.

I have no one who can watch DS, so that I have special time with DD. That's been the case for years. Just getting childcare for the divorce course is hard enough and babysitters are costly as it is. I need a break through and a way forward in our situation and I'm worried I'm treating her, how I was as a kid as well at times. It's horrid.

Dutchoma · 12/06/2013 17:13

That is a difficult situation to be in Mome. I think the only thing you can do is tell her that you love her, that you know you expect a lot from her and that you will make as much time as you can given the circumstances. Maybe there will be a bit of light at the end of the tunnel when you have a diagnosis for ds. Will certainly keep in prayer for you and your darling dd.

BlackeyedSusan · 12/06/2013 20:38

do they go to bed at the same time? that is dd's special time, but there is a bigger age gap.

I am sitting on the email until tomorow when I will review it. nd mybe sit on it for a bit longer.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 12/06/2013 20:56

They both go to bed at 7pm. She's just too tired for anything later and they're both horrors when over tired.

I pat myself on the back when I achieve 7pm or sooner, as it's pretty hard to do, as well as squeezing in tea, reading and spellings and baths etc.

amberlight · 12/06/2013 21:28

Still praying

BlackeyedSusan · 12/06/2013 22:07

not kidding 7 is hard. I moved bedtime to 7.30 as it was more consistant if we had stuff going on after school.

PositiveAttitude · 13/06/2013 03:40

Hello you lovely lot!

I have been reading and praying for you all, especially Blue, but apologies for not "showing my face" for a while.

Massive changes afoot within the family, some uncertainties still, but we now have peace with the decisions made and trust God for those still to be made......

We all fly home next Tuesday, arrive late Wednesday night! Its going to total about 35 hours of travel in all, and that is IF the flights connect, and we dont miss anything. After 5 weeks DH and DD4 will be returning here, but I and DS will be staying at home. Not an ideal situation, but only temporary and it means that our five children will all have the best they can have for their life situations. DH (and DD4) and I will be apart until next June, but hopefully, if finances allow they will come home for Christmas and New year and there is a chance I will be able to fly out to visit them here too (a generous offer from someone to pay for that, but there are strings attached)

It has been incredibly difficult to get to this decision, but we have total peace now about it all.
There are some issues still being discussed, so please pray for wisdom and guidance for them.

Please pray for DD3's wedding in just over 2 weeks time! I have a dress ready for me to try on back at home, but I hope it is all good!!

And please continue to pray for DD1.

Thank you.

RoomForALittleOne · 13/06/2013 03:49

Hey PA! Praying for you (I'm just up for my third wee of the night Hmm and thought I'd check in!). Particularly praying about the temporary geographical separation for you and DH. That must be hard.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/06/2013 08:16

dentist. root canal. eek. need to root aaround and find the cash... they only take cash or cheque. cheque book would be fine. just where the heck is it?

BlackeyedSusan · 13/06/2013 12:34

I am all numb, but it might hut when the anaesthetic wears off in couple of hours. I have been Shock for the best part of an hour.

i tried to pray, but the anesthetic must have got to my head too. only got as far as those pesky contractions! (hope you are doing ok room. ) and bob.

Dutchoma · 13/06/2013 13:33

Bless you, thinking of Bob.

RoomForALittleOne · 13/06/2013 13:33

Why don't you take some painkillers before the anaesthetic wears off, BES?

Praise The Lord, both DD2 and DS are napping after they had a very long day yesterday to accommodate my midwife appointment and DH's placement. I had a very grumpy start to the day but am feeling more positive after having a nap. I'm 36 weeks pregnant today. One more week and I can go to the midwife led care unit and get in the pool! One more week would be plenty though. I really can't bear this for much longer.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/06/2013 14:24

well things are improving... still drooling, slightly chocolatey Blush (well it is soft when it melts Grin ) bout to tke the pain killers as the anaesthetic will wear off about pick up time.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 14/06/2013 09:22

Horrible morning with DD crying about everything and me feeling like I'm failing as a Mum as I got cross in the end. Please pray for her for peace at School today.

Dutchoma · 14/06/2013 09:52

Praying. For Mome's dd and all others needing strength and love and the power of the Lord.

niminypiminy · 14/06/2013 12:41

Praying for all. And praying for DO -- sometimes the hardest thing is to just keep on keeping on.

BlackeyedSusan · 14/06/2013 14:36

sticks hand up in response to DO.

definitely need wisdom too.
