"By this love you have for one another, everyone will know that you are my disciples": Christian Prayer Thread for April

I thought it was about time we started a new thread, seeing as the previous one now has over 600 posts, making it difficult for some people to load it and navigate around it. I used the quote from John 13. 15 that I posted on the previous thread on Maundy Thursday, because I think it sums up what this thread - and this group of people - is all about.

We pray particularly at this time for RoomForALittleOne: that her baby hang on where s/he is for as long as possible and continue to grow in size and strength, and that Room stay well and as pain- and stress-free as possible. Prayers, too, for the medical team looking after them both at this worrying time.

We pray also for:
amberlight ? for her work raising awareness of ASDs, and for her friends who have cancer;
BabyBeatrice and her family ? for continued healing and with thanks for recent good news;
BlackEyedSusan ? for strength to cope with all the many things on her plate, for health for her mum, and for happier times at school for her DD and DS;
BlueTinkerbell ? for work possibilities and for her vocation;
charlottecollinsislost ? for a peaceful holiday, despite the circumstances, and for as pain- and recrimination-free a separation as possible for the sake of all concerned;
Dontsteponthemomeraths ? for her as she dips her toe back in the 'dating pond'; for her ?LM? as he tries to establish contact with his children; for her brother to regain full use of his thumb, following an accident;
DutchOma and Bob ? for health for Bob, and for Oma to feel supported as she cares for him day-to-day; also for Oma's planned trip to Holland;
GingerCurl ? for the successful and (relatively) stress-free completion of her thesis;
HavingALittleFaithBaby ? for as easy a time as is possible during these last days and weeks of her pregnancy;
jann2013 ? for strength for her following the break-up of her marriage, and for her dd who has badly broken her arm;
Kaykat ? for her and her DS to know peace and happiness as they emerge from an abusive relationship, and for the legal issues to be sorted out quickly so that they can get back into their own home;
MadHairDay - for strength as she lives with chronic illness and for the Spring to bring her better health;
MaryBS - for peace and happiness following a difficult situation at Scouts with her DS;
PositiveAttitude ? for her mission overseas and for her family both over there and back here, especially her DD1;
...and for all who post on this thread, for those who lurk, for occasional visitors, and for those known to us who are in need of prayer, whether mentioned here or not.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

Room - so pleased dh got the assignments done and in, hope now things slow down a bit and you can all relax. You're doing so well, seems like yesterday we were all so worried about you at 28 weeks or so.

Praying for all those facing difficult situations in relationship break ups - Kay, Jan, Charlotte, Bounty.

Praying for BES as she tries to sort out dxs and recovers from a stressful holiday.

Prayers for Blue in this difficult situation, hope it all gets resolved easily and painlessly. Prayers and hugs as you mourn your DGrandad.

Praying for Faith, and so sorry work have been rubbish and things are looking a bit bad for going back.

Praying for all our lovely folk here, holding you all before God today.

Could you pray for us for a work situation. dh having important meeting today...all a bit churned up really. Thanks.

Bluetinkerbell · 04/06/2013 11:54

room could you tell me what are reasonable costs for advertising? Around the £600 mark?
I need to discuss with DH, but yes we might offer that. If they would let us of course.

praying for everyone!

RoomForALittleOne · 04/06/2013 14:13

It depends on how it is advertised, Blue. Between £80 and £500 for advertising plus 10-15% of monthly rental income depending on where you live, Blue and which agent you use. Most areas would be at the lower end of that. The other costs could include legal costs plus the cost of having the property checked and an inventory done. Also reasonable to expect to incur some costs for cleaning, especially if carpets need cleaning. It really depends on how well you are looking after the property and if it is truly ready to be back on the market with you in it or not.

RoomForALittleOne · 04/06/2013 14:15

Also, you need to remember that the landlord will have to fulfil their contract with the letting agents and that could be why they are twitched.

Bluetinkerbell · 04/06/2013 14:16

We were planning on paying for carpet cleaning anyway, as we did the same when leaving our previous house.
Landlord has just sent me a text to ask if he could give my number to several agents so they can come and view the property.
So they are planning on letting it again, I'm assuming, or maybe selling, don't know. Going to wait to reply until DH is back home.

It's quite hard going, mhd. It's two weeks now since I said again that it's over. I've had rl support just from my parents, really, in that time. I feel there's too much to explain and whenever I try to talk to somebody about it, there's some misconception in there that often makes me feel blamed or judged for making the decision to separate. It's not something I want to do, as such, but the marriage is too horrible and too fake to do otherwise. So I feel quite lonely (and very aware how unknown my future is - location, job, new friends, church, family arrangements, everything!). Having said that, I have fantastic online friends who are a brilliant support and they do understand; and I know that God knows what's happened, better than I do, and he is giving me strength (once before I even finished praying for it!).

H is not yet admitting to himself that we are separating; in his mind, I'm not working hard enough at the marriage, giving up when that's not really allowed. We've just done a short course of counselling with Relate to try to help him come to terms with that, so I'm waiting to see if it sinks in at all. DD1 knows, but the other 3 don't (he told dd1), which could be awkward. H is away most of the time from now until the summer, so whatever happens it's going to be a long drawn out process.

praying

Tuo · 05/06/2013 00:21

Also reading and praying. Having a busy week... piles of marking, plus some difficult meetings coming up. But I read and keep you all in my prayers even if I'm not posting.

Charlotte, it sounds so very tough. Praying for you, and if you need someone to talk to and want to visit, I'm around (we never did rearrange!!)

CharlotteCollinsismovingon · 05/06/2013 11:35

Thank you. I might take you up on that one day when H has the dcs; that's the hardest time to be sharing the house. Could do some shopping and make a day of it! Will fb you nearer the time.

madhairday · 05/06/2013 16:53

That would be great!

Please can I ask for continued prayers for the family of the girl who was murdered last week, Georgia - she's from our town and we know a few people who know the family :( It's so very awful.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 05/06/2013 17:26

Hello all. Praying as I read.

Good to hear from you again Charlotte. Hold firm to the promises that God makes about your future...
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,? declares the Lord, ?plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Praying your H will start to accept that it's over and that it goes ok telling your other DC.

Yes mhd will be praying for Georgia's family and friends. Such an awful situation :(

Praying things get resolved with the LL blue.

I am much better - thanks for the prayers. My luffly GP is much happier with me today at my review. Faithlet is much happier in herself since we started giving her gripe water and gaviscon, less windy, less sick, settling earlier at night and sleeping longer! That's having a positive effect on me. Add in that she's started smiling and life is better all round :)

BlackeyedSusan · 05/06/2013 21:36

all fuzzy headed and tired. I forgot to get milk this morning, and have had to tell myself off for thinking I have failed despite having rectified the situation and got milk in the fridge Hmm (even if not the usual sort and ever so slightly more expensive. ) Grin

ds has only just gone quiet, and there is no guarantee he is asleep. means i may get a peaceful evening tomorow though. dd is sticking, making a collage for homework/occupational therapy. (lots of ripping and sticking and scrunching tissue paper and squeezing the glue bottle.)she is just off to bed now.

BlackeyedSusan · 06/06/2013 07:33

dentist this morning.

Dutchoma · 06/06/2013 09:19

Did you get some sleep BES? Best of luck with the fentist this morning.

BlackeyedSusan · 06/06/2013 10:49

as expected, rroot canal treatment. next week.

amberlight · 06/06/2013 11:39

Prayers aplenty...

madhairday · 06/06/2013 15:42

ouchy Bes, not nice.

Just had an endoscopy this morning, and they wouldn't sedate me as my o2 sats were too low, so it wasn't the nicest of experiences, but glad it's over now.

Praying for you all

BlackeyedSusan · 06/06/2013 20:00

the dentist reckons that the nerve has started to die so it should not be so painful. probably why it felt so bad that i was crying in agony on friday and saturday, yet has passed to a grumble now.

BlackeyedSusan · 06/06/2013 20:00

it is not as bad as endoscopy. poor you.

RoomForALittleOne · 06/06/2013 22:55

Praying for health for all on here.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 07/06/2013 08:06

Ouch to endoscopy without sedation mhd! Hope you're recovering ok. Ongoing prayers for your health, especially your lungs.

Praying about your tooth bes.

Lifting you all up in prayer.

BlackeyedSusan · 07/06/2013 14:51

Bluetinkerbell · 07/06/2013 22:02

In Belgium, went to see my grandad for the last time today.
Could I please ask for prayers for the funeral to go well, my mum and her siblings had arguments today about things. Please give them all strength to get through tomorrow and for us to support them.
