Happy birthday Nickel! Hope you're having a lovely day Grin

UniqueAndAmazing · 01/05/2013 12:54

thank you :)

it's lovely and sunny, but rather cold! [brr]

MN meetup sounds cool, but we're all a bit far apart Grin

i sent NVW a little email saying i didn't get to talk to her on Sunday and that i hoped she is okay etc.

I've got a little idea up my sleeve as a present for the new baby (will that be NVWNB ?) and i've asked her for her favourite bible verse.
i'm going to make them look pretty using photoshop and then print them onto some vests Grin

niminypiminy · 01/05/2013 13:10

Ooh Happy Birthday Unique!!

That's a lovely idea. If she doesn't have a favourite verse you could try

Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
and the glory of children is their parents. (Proverbs 17)#

or perhaps

Train children in the right way,
and when old, they will not stray (proverbs 22)

I'm sure there are loads of good ones...

Dutchoma · 01/05/2013 14:15

Happy birthday Nickel.

Jaynebxl · 01/05/2013 18:48

Happy birthday Unique! Hope you're having a lovely day.

DutchOma where in Holland are you?

Great idea of printing stuff up onto vests!

Dutchoma · 02/05/2013 13:03

Jayne I was in Eindhoven, but am home again now. Meeting Nickel tomorrow. Grin

UniqueAndAmazing · 02/05/2013 17:32

it is tomorrow! Grin

Dutchoma · 02/05/2013 18:03

Just checked train times Grin

Jaynebxl · 02/05/2013 18:47

Have fun, ladies! Did you fly from Eindhoven? I used to live in Brussels and once flew home from Eindhoven airport. Tiny little airport, I loved it!

Dutchoma · 02/05/2013 19:34

No, from Eindhoven you can only fly on Stansted and that's a pig toget home from. I went by overnight ferry from Hoek of Holland to Harwich. Was better on the way out than on the way home, where you only get to sleep from 10.30 till 4 am.

Jaynebxl · 02/05/2013 22:54

O gosh that's quite a trek then!

Dutchoma · 03/05/2013 06:41

It is a bit of a trek, but then, on the way there I got to meet up with a MN buddy, sadly no longer on MN (don't ask) and a really nice sleep on the way there. You don't need to get off the ship until 8.00 am. The return journey was not so easy.
It is really the easiest of what there is available and no more expensive than going by train or flying.

UniqueAndAmazing · 03/05/2013 11:11

yeay!! this evening!!

Are you going to your B&B and settling in then coming here?
I seem to recall that's what we planned - and you're coming to us for tea?

(and then choir practice)

thanksamillion · 03/05/2013 14:16

Have a fab time together!

It's Good Friday here today so off to make hot cross buns...

UniqueAndAmazing · 03/05/2013 17:22

She's here! Grin

she's made DD the most gorgeous scarecrow toy and given me a book of music (The Way of the Cross - passiontide sequence) Grin
and she's bought a book to send to someone Grin

Tuo · 03/05/2013 19:08

Aww... lovely Oma! Have fun! (And belated happy birthday, Nickel... haven't been on the thread this week.)

Dutchoma · 03/05/2013 22:38

Everything went quite easy, Nickel's dd is a darling sweetie and choir practice went amazing given that I'd never seen the music before. people were really friendly

UniqueAndAmazing · 04/05/2013 13:10
Grin yeah, sorry about the music - it's all Pot Boilers to us!

That psalm is really hard though!

Tuo · 05/05/2013 00:18

Happy Easter Milly! (well for Sunday!) :)

So glad nickel and DO had such a good time together. I love the vest idea nickel, that is so thoughtful. You are lovely!

Well I'm loving the sunshine, but it's reminding me that New wine is on the way and I'm bricking it having said yes to doing this seminar.... - I shall just put it out of my mind for now.

Went to a church on sunday which was very eighties esque in its worship, finishing with nickel's favourite hymn ever Grin lovely though.

thanksamillion · 07/05/2013 21:49

Thanks for all the Easter wishes Grin

We had a bit of an odd Sunday - the service was at 6am in the next village so we had to get up at 5 Shock. I guess it's normally a sunrise service but because it's so late this year the sun was already up and it just felt like church really early in the morning!

We then went home for a few hours (finished at 8am) and tried to sleep but were constantly interrupted by children coming to the house shouting 'Jesus is risen' and expecting to be given painted eggs and biscuits/sweets. Then we went back to the church for a bbq.

I conclude that I am not good at early mornings and would therefore make a really bad nun Grin

UniqueAndAmazing · 07/05/2013 21:57
Hmm

I've done 4 so far - rejoice in the lord always: and again I say rejoice with lions; the peace one in the shape of a fish; two bits from john 1 talking about light inside a computer-drawn candle and whatever is holy, pure, good, honourable etc done as a wordle with whatever right across the middle. just have to do one more to finish them I can print them out.

madhairday · 08/05/2013 11:32

I couldn't get my head round that for a moment there nickel, thought you were wittering about rejoicing with lions Grin

They sound lovely though! You'll have to put some pics on your profile.

Milly, love that the local children were all coming to you for eggs etc though sorry it meant no sleep! You do an amazing job.
