Expat's beautiful and brave daughter died last Saturday night. Her funeral mass and burial is on this coming Saturday, the 14th.
I've been thinking a lot about both Expat and Aillidh this week and I know that Peachy has a wonderful idea for how people can mark Aillidh's passing on Saturday. Thread here
In addition to that, I want to suggest a sort of prayer vigil on the night before. So many people lit candles for Aillidh and prayed. In the darkness of the evening of the night before her funeral I think we need to do that again. We can be a light.
I'm thinking of this prayer
Christ be with you, Christ within you,
Christ behind you, Christ before you,
Christ beside you, Christ to win you,
Christ to comfort and restore you.
Christ beneath you, Christ above you,
Christ in quiet, and in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love you,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.
and there is a lovely song which is on the same lines. That sort of somes up my feelings but of course people should just pray as they feel led.
In the days Aillidh was so ill a lot of people wanted to do something to help and we did by praying. I just want to 'arm' Expat and her family as much as possible for Saturday. This seems the way to me.
