I've heard it said,Moët recently on a thread on jeté, that people have 'edperiencer Jesus'

No one ever elaborates though, or gives any detail

It's very mysterious. I am intrigued

richman did your friend actually hear a voice, as if it was a person speaking?

No- I think he heard the voice in his head but it was as though someone has spoken to him. He was already a committed Christian, so, as Soup dragon points out, an atheist may have had the same experience and said that their conscience spoke to them or something similar. I know this person gets a huge amount of strength through his faith, and I can say that he's one of the best examples of Christianity in practice that I have seen- an extremely compassionate, humble, non-judgemental guy.

I guess its not about proof that God exists, but faith. Proof (to me) is what will satisfy everyone, not just the person having the experience. But yes, I've experienced God on a number of occasions, sometimes its a feeling, sometimes its a voice, and a different voice from my own voice, not my conscience or anything, which I've also recognised as "speaking" to me.

On one occasion it was in the form of a conversation I heard "you should do that". I replied "what, really?" and I heard "yes". So I did. And felt really weird afterwards (it was volunteering to speak at an event, and I'm not a natural public speaker, and had never volunteered to do anything like that before). Sounds very little, but that is the sort of experiences I've had.

Also when DD was in danger of drowning, I "felt" that an angel was protecting her. I'd never experienced angels before, and can't really explain how I knew it was an angel and not, say God himself, or any other being, but I just "knew". I also cannot BEGIN to explain how I felt after she was rescued, but it was pretty scary!
