I hope LibraPoppyGirl doesn't mind, but seeing as she sort of "did" a summary for me; I thought I would use her words to start a new thread as the last one was getting pretty long! Smile

It was interesting to find out what the Plural of Phoenix was at the same time - Apparently that's derives from the original Latin - same as Matrix and Matrices. So there you go!! You learn something new everyday. Wink

Prayers for LibraPoppyGirl as well - as she seeks refuge in the ... erm ... refuge and looks to a safe future with her precious family. Protect her, Lord and show her the way she should walk .....

amberlight · 07/05/2011 16:51

'cos I'm one of his advisers Grin (I get up to all sorts of mad stuff). Feeling tired after a long day but very pleased.
Prayers for everyone...

Notquitegrownup · 07/05/2011 22:34

Aw you guys (gals) are lovely, thank you. Feeling as if I might be able to see a little of the woods rather than just trees - iykwim. Not entirely out of the woods yet, but one step at a time . . . .

So thank you for your prayers, which have helped lots, and for the offers of an ear. That means so much. I have a few more difficult decisions to make yet, so prayers that I can move forward in His Will, by His Grace to get stuff done would be much appreciated.

Will hopefully be able to come back and be more active in joining y'all in prayer soon . . . .

God bless

DutchOma · 07/05/2011 22:58

Just take it steady NQGU We are here for you if you want an ear or a shoulder.

CaptainDippy · 08/05/2011 09:52

How is your sis today ginger? I have hyper-mobility (although, not E-D; though I think my DD1 may have it) and my friend of mine is in a wheelchair due to dislocating her back because she has ED. Doctors are so dismissive and rubbish with this condition, it is really frustrating. Sad So I share some of your and your sister's annoyance. I do hope the pain subsides ASAP and they find out what is causing it, and treat xx

Prayers for chest MHD, how are you day honey? xx

Peggy Funeral was beautiful and a real tribute to an amazing Woman of God; but it was sad too and it was just heart-breaking to hear one of her Grandson's sobbing and sobbing at the Crem Sad Hold that precious family close, Lord and never let them go through their pain and their grief. Let them find Hope. So it is over now and I am numb. I feel like it still hasn't hit me that I will never see Peggy again. Sad Going to invite Peggy's DH over soon for dinner as he will be on his own officially (not family staying) as of Wed this week (11th) Thank you for your prayers, keep them coming, please. Smile xx

Latest news on DF's sis who was in the car crash:

"She gets upset from time to time and cries when loved ones leave. She crys, but can make no sound. It is heart-breaking. They can sit her up in a special chair and she is able to move her left hand and left foot very slightly. She is able to mover her eyes and has recognition and understanding. Please pray her chest infection clears up so she can be moved to a better facility for rehabilitation. The hospital is very limited in how they can care ofr her."

So progress is being made - very slowly; but this chest infection really need to clear up now so they can move her and begin to rebuild her independence and life .....

Notquitegrownup · 08/05/2011 16:11

Aw, thank you DO.

You will see Peggy again, CD. Just have to wait a little while . . . (found that mobile yet?)

x

madhairday · 08/05/2011 17:40

Poor DF's sis, CD, praying the chest infection will clear so they can treat her better. :( Peggy's funeral sounded amazing, she sounded like a wonderful woman, and yes you will see her one day.

Amber, glad it went good with the ABC

Glad things are seeming a tiny bit clearer NQGU - praying for you to see more of a path as you walk...

Have had a lovely weekend meeting up with some of the people from my lung disease forum - we meet every year and it's sooooo lovely to talk with people who just get it, you know...no pretending, everyone just knows, always feels like a huge relief. We were down on numbers as about 6 people got sick at last minute but that's always the nature of it, still great to do it. V tired now after talking most of the night :) Have cell group over tonight but would prefer to go to bed.

madhairday · 10/05/2011 11:13

Where is everyone? Quiet on here. Keeping you all in my prayers.

amberlight · 10/05/2011 11:35

I'm here and praying, but quietly. Smile

SweetestThing · 10/05/2011 11:58

Hello. Please would you add me to your prayers. I have been diagnosed with cancer in my neck and am having various tests to see whether I have it elsewhere as well. I have an operation on May 23rd to remove the cancer in my neck but don't know yet what other treatment I will have - depends on the tests and scans, I guess.

I am a churchgoer and I strongly believe that God won't give me anything to cope with that I can't handle. I am getting a lot of strength from the prayers and support of my friends but a bit more prayer can only help. I am scared but determined. Thank you and sorry for such a selfish posting.

madhairday · 10/05/2011 12:03

Not a selfish posting at all, ST, and of course we will join in prayer for you. I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It is a scary time. But often in the darkest places is where we find God, somehow, working more, in it with us. Welcome to the thread :)

amberlight · 10/05/2011 12:12

Sweetestthing, welcome from me Smile. Prayers assured. I'm having chemo for breast cancer at the moment so know what you're going through...

SweetestThing · 10/05/2011 12:15

Thank you madhairday and amberlight.

Amberlight, I hope your treatment is going well. Breast cancer is one of the two other areas where my doctors think I may have a primary cancer so I may end up having the same treatment as you!

I love this thread - it really helped me when my brother died about 18 months ago. Thank you.

amberlight · 10/05/2011 12:29

Sweetesthing, thanks. Get them to talk to you about Cyberknife technology for whatever they find/google it. Jolly nifty newish stuff with bloomin' good results as I understand it. Prayers continuing.

PositiveAttitude · 10/05/2011 14:08

Adding my prayers SweetestThing and continuing to pray for you Amber. I am still around, just not posted much recently. Smile

DutchOma · 10/05/2011 15:55

Sweetestthing, I remember you from 18 months ago. So sorry to hear that you are now having trouble again. Asking for prayer support in never selfish, on the contrary it is a brave thing to do because you open yourself up and make yourself vulnerable. God Himself will hear and answer your prayer in whatever way is best for you and we will be glad to walk that way with you.

TotallyUnheardOf · 10/05/2011 21:34

Hello all. Haven't been around for a while (just busy with RL stuff) though have been praying. Was going to apologise for coming back just for a selfish/trivial reason, but won't because I've just read Oma's very wise post. Thank you, Oma.

Dh is away till Thursday night on a course, which is normally fine. But just after he left I started to feel quite unwell... cold and shivery (you know that thing where your skin almost hurts to touch it?) and very very achey, and a bit queasy. As some of you know I have a phobia about being sick. But just generally I have a busy week (dd's birthday tomorrow, important work meeting on Thursday, my parents arriving for the weekend, house to clean/tidy etc.) and I really really don't want to be ill now.

Haven't eaten anything tonight and am now going to bed in the hope that I feel better tomorrow. I know it's such a minor thing in the scheme of things, but would so appreciate any prayers.

Sweetest thing: so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I am praying for you. Haven't read further back now as the thread is long and my need to sleep is great, but am keeping you all in my prayers.

CaptainDippy · 10/05/2011 23:52

Praying you feel heaps better tomorrow TUO xx

Sorry to hear about your DX SweetestThing. Lots and lots of prayers for you and for your family - stick with us here and we'll pray you and lovely amber through it all Smile xx

Must go to bed .....

DutchOma · 11/05/2011 07:36

Good morning. Off to see dd and dgc in a minute.

Praying that we will all stick as close to our walk with God as we can, so that we can thank God for 'all the changing scenes of life'

MaryBS · 11/05/2011 07:40

Exactly DO. I read 2 Peter this morning, and this is what struck me, and it ties in with what you say (from chapter 1):

3 His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants in the divine nature. 5For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, 6and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, 7and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. 8For if these things are yours and are increasing among you, they keep you from being ineffective and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9For anyone who lacks these things is short-sighted and blind, and is forgetful of the cleansing of past sins. 10Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. 11For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.

MaryBS · 11/05/2011 07:41

And prayers for you, sweetestthing...

amberlight · 11/05/2011 08:47

Mary, that's a lovely reading.
Prayers for everyone continuing...

madhairday · 11/05/2011 09:51

Great reading Mary.

Prayers that you will feel better soon TUO. Good to see you as well :)

Continued prayers here also.

Feel grotty today so not going out to a coffee morning was meant to be helping with. Just can't get enough breath to take a few steps so thought it would be silly to try. Going to snuggle up and watch the Apprentice instead.

TotallyUnheardOf · 11/05/2011 11:41

Thank you for prayers. Just back from doctor's with some antibiotics for kidney infection. Still feel rough, but hope the drugs will knock it on the head soon.

Prayers for everyone here. I hope you feel better soon, MHD.

Thank you for sharing that reading, Mary.

gingercurl · 12/05/2011 17:13

Still lurking and praying...(even if this thread appears to have gone a bit quiet over the last few days).
My DSis is better, if not fine. She saw her usual physio and a specialist chiropractic(?) she's worked with before on Monday, and they seem to have been able to target the problem. She's going back to see them after the weekend again. Thank you for your prayers.
