I hope LibraPoppyGirl doesn't mind, but seeing as she sort of "did" a summary for me; I thought I would use her words to start a new thread as the last one was getting pretty long! Smile

It was interesting to find out what the Plural of Phoenix was at the same time - Apparently that's derives from the original Latin - same as Matrix and Matrices. So there you go!! You learn something new everyday. Wink

Prayers for LibraPoppyGirl as well - as she seeks refuge in the ... erm ... refuge and looks to a safe future with her precious family. Protect her, Lord and show her the way she should walk .....

Please pray for this diagnosis. I've stupidly googled and now I'm feeling really upset. I know I shouldn't have googled, but so so far ive got consistently that it is more common for legs to be affected than arms/hands, what is also consistently coming up, is that if no progess is made in the first 6 months after onset then it is less likely that a full recovery will happen. so i have a funny feeling this will be a part of life forever now. if there were to be another episode of further lesions on the spine then a future diagnosis of MS could still be a possibility.

Teaandcakeplease · 05/04/2011 19:53

Praying for peace Caz for you and healing for your H. Nothing is impossible for God. Keep leaning on him at this tricky time and stop googling

madhairday · 05/04/2011 20:16

Praying, Caz. It is shocking when you face something that may be lifelong. But never give up praying, as TACP says. Praying for peace for you.

amberlight · 05/04/2011 21:19

Prayers for each of you.

Caz, medical science brings hope as well. Few things are going to be lifelong. Just bloomin' difficult for a while, maybe. Has he been offered occupational therapy to make sure he's got the right adaptations to make life as easy as poss?

blackeyedsusan · 05/04/2011 23:05

Caz Sad typed and retyped and can't think of anything that doesn't sound patronising.. or trite.

CaptainDippy · 06/04/2011 08:19

Prayers for Peace - for you and DH, Caz. Words are not enough & I wish so much I could just give you a big hug. Like you have said, it could have been A LOT nastier and there are treatments and there IS hope for this condition. Hold on to that right now. Weather the storm together and think of beautiful Belle and this precious little one growing inside you. God is holding you. xxxx

Thank you SO much for your prayers, good people!!! This means I can probably just have a lumpectomy instead of a mastectomy...and means the odds of survival have just shot up Grin

Prayers continuing for everyone else.

Teaandcakeplease · 07/04/2011 11:17

Wow! God is good. Fantastic news.

thejaffacakesareonme · 07/04/2011 14:16

Wonderful news.

blackeyedsusan · 07/04/2011 14:30

fantastic amber..

amberlight · 07/04/2011 15:54

it might be more than half...my maths has failed completely. If a sphere starts off at 2.3cm and goes down to 1.5 cm, that might be less than half the volume I think...or is it...oh my...where's a mathematician when you need one...?

Anyway, prayers all round
xx

MaryBS · 07/04/2011 16:59

Formula for volume of a sphere is 4/3 Pi r3. Taking Pi to be 3.14, and calculating to 2dp, its gone from 6.37cm3 to 1.77cm3 :), so yes, MUCH better than half! :). SO glad its going well, Amber! Praise God!

madhairday · 07/04/2011 17:28

This is awesome Amber. Have tears for you here. Praise God :) :)
Praise God too for my seekers group. Such a privelege. They are going on to develop faith more and more. It's so exciting. Loving it loving it :)

Mary, thank you for the equations! Extra happy now!
Prayers continuing for everyone

MaryBS · 08/04/2011 07:51

Thanks Amber, I knew YOU'D appreciate me Wink :o

Back to hospital for follow-up appointment re: knee op this afternoon...

Praying Caz. I know its not entirely the same, but I remember how I felt when DS was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. Not everyone was understanding and supportive, being unable to see why I was upset "after all, he's still the same child". Our very wise retired priest put his finger on it when he said I was grieving the boy he'd never be. Now of course, with a dx for myself, its just part of our life and I've become so much more accepting of it. (Also can I say I often prefer the company of Aspies? So much easier to understand!) Like I say, not entirely the same, but many of the emotions may be.

gingercurl · 08/04/2011 09:14

Hurray Amber! Continuing to lurk and pray.

CaptainDippy · 08/04/2011 11:51

Hope appt goes well later on Mary xx
