Fish stickers and people 'adding' to them

Apologies if this has been done before. I've noticed a few comments on MN lately where people have mentioned 'doctoring' other people's fish stickers, by adding legs and stuff.

I get that the fish with legs is the Darwin fish. I get that the Christian fish stickers wind people up. What I don't get is why anyone would actually go and stick legs on somebody else's sticker. Or alter it in any way.

For the record, I am a christian but don't have a fish sticker. I guess that's the same as saying that I am a parent but don't have a 'Baby on Board' sticker. I find both those things a bit...well...naff and annoying, but I also recoginise that that's just my personal opinion and have no compulsion to go and scrawl, 'Not there isn't - it's in the supermarket with you!' on the BoB yellow diamonds, for example.

It's not just me who finds the idea of adulterating someone else's sticker small minded and offensive, is it? Live and let live, and all that.

It's just been bothering me since I found out that people feel the need to go around with little packets of fish legs, that's all.

The replacement fish weren't designed to be used on under-evolved fish. The intent was to replace fish broken off of the highly evolved Darwin version. Why someone would bother to de-feet a fish is beyond me. You can read more about it here www.evolvefish.com/fish/emblems.html#2721
I found a "conversion kit" that seems to have followed a more compassionate evolutionary branch. www.evolvefish.com/fish/cutout.html#3582

Never heard of this happening.

We're christians but don't like the fish stickers. In fact dh and I usually mutter about bloody christian drivers when we get stuck behind one doing 40 in a 60 limit.

Seems to happen often Grin

Eva is such a slapper, isn't she? She always seems to be part of any Bus Shelter Threesome ...

PosieParker · 04/10/2010 20:03

People really do that? I can't think that people who doctor other people's fish stickers are anything other than idiots, atheist or not. (I doubt they know their own beliefs)

PosieParker · 04/10/2010 20:06

There's one in the UK with the fish and inside is 'and chips'.

www.darwinfish.co.uk/ There's another in the states with Freud inside, I'd love to get that one for a friend of mine who is a psychiatrist.

I awlways think evolution "proves" the bible version, so can't understand the Darwinism v Creationism thing at all. Don't Darwin and Genesis have everything in exactly the same order?

When was Genesis written? Long before anyone had heard Darwin's theories I'm sure Grin

PosieParker · 05/10/2010 11:28

Create.....
Creationism and Darwinism don't mix well.

Gretl · 05/10/2010 11:31

Well to be fair, create, a LOT of things were written before Darwin got going on his theory. Grin
What's your point?

AngryPixie · 05/10/2010 11:51

I'm with SGB the christian fish makes me nervous, I don't want to be driving anywhere near someone who isn't afraid to die Grin

create · 06/10/2010 18:11

Posie, I know that, but often wonder why.

Gretl, my point is that Darwin and Genesis have evolution/creation in exactly the same order. How can that be a coincidence? Ok, the timescale is very different, but if we take evolution as science and therefore fact, how did Genesis know the order?
