Help-need to name a black cat with yellow eyes tomorrow!

Picking up our cat(9 months) tomorrow from Cats Protection. We can't agree on a name. She is very petite, all black with the most enormous yellow eyes. (I am so excited!)

Any ideas would be gratefully received-please and thank you

The children are keen to name her so wanted to give them some options tomorrow to choose from.

what sort of names do you like for pets?

human type names - sally-ann, mary-lou, karen

pussy names - willow, tabby..

other - Isis, Aris, Beans...

(these aren't my suggestions btw, just trying to see what type of name appeals to you.)

Our family cat is black and is called Mr Berlioz... Im pretty certain he is the only cat with that name and to be honest he's on his way out so yours could take the mantle if you like??

Our all black cat was named Panther, which became Kevin Keegan when we discovered how good he/she/it was at football, which later changed to Goldilocks after the sampling all the porridge bowls incident. I would wait and see what traits she exhibits before deciding on a name.

I had a black rescue cat with huge yellow eyes - she was called Amber and was fab. Good luck with your new pet!

I've always liked Sootica for a black cat, it was Gobbolino the witches' cats' sister in the old Storyteller series

Slinky Malinky was blacker than black
A stalking and lurking adventurous cat

And a kink at the end of his very long tail...

I know it's a male cat in the story but I think Slinky Malinky is probably ok for a girl cat.

I'll be getting a kitten in a few weeks time (silver tabby) to add to the two cats already in residence. My DD (2.7) wants to call him Strawberry...

Thanks everyone, off to bed now so will have a think. When I was a child I named my cat Shamu after the killer whale in Sea World!!!!
