big dogs?

DH wants a dog, his only spec is large! bigger the better in fact. can anyone recommend a breed from their personal experience to get us started?

10.5 stone woofa is very loyal, loving (a bit too loving at times) but lovely

If you have decided on a GD, go to rescue and speak to many many breeders. be prepared to be questioned and really think about how you are going to train the dog.

get a good GD book and get on some GD forums/websites.

I have one, she is old now and despite smelling very doggy she is lovely. Best dog i've had around kids as so tolerant and docile. Kids used to sit on her and pull at her nipples (out of curiosity, they were keen breast feeders)and she never ever batted an eyelid. I have never heard her growl at a human ever.

And they are gorgeous (or mine is)
