Help name my odd-eyed deaf white 8 week old kitten whom I adore

Just got him yesterday He is absolutely scrumptious. He slept curled up in my arm or neck all night last night. He is perfect. He cuddles, licks, plays like a loony! He has the funniest, squeakiest little mew. And he is totally deaf!!! Every now and then we think "did he hear that?" because his ears twitch when there was a sound but after extensive testing we have deduced he is pretty much totally deaf. He has one blue & one green eye. I do not want to call him Bowie or Ziggy thanks. Thinking something to do with colours, like multiple colours e.g. rainbow but not rainbow! Or something a bit fey as he is like a little gift from the fairies he is such a cutie and so bonkers I just adore him.

How long should I keep him confined to my bedroom so as to not overwhelm him with the whole house? He's been in it with me since yesterday at 5. He is scared of the dark too bless him I guess b/c he cant hear he really depends on his eyes.

I like Neptune too. I need to be able to shorten it though and also with the option of it ending in an "ie" sound. I have very clear parameters you see for this sort of thing. Does Neppy make you think of Nipples?

I know they can see well in the dark but honestly this little one cant! Light went out, it was pitch black and he went mental crying nay I say howling even running from this end of the room to that distressed finally wedged himself behind my headboard still crying. We managed to root him out and when we then opened one curtain (netted) so the moonlight came through he instantly chilled and went to sleep on me! I tell you this cat is a one off.

Or patchwork, as in quilt? Patch for short. OK, it is usually a dog's name but how many dogs are called Patch these days?

Patch is cute. Someone suggested Puck which we like but it rhyme with fuck and we rhyme everything in this house. Now I am really going to make a nuisance of myself, I like spectrum but DS is ASD and I think it would get confusing.

My parents have an odd eyed deaf cat (called Lucy). She is super friendly but totally loopy. I think the deafness makes her a bit skittish.

How about Taliesin? Welsh bard, one of the three most important mythical figures along with Merlin (err, that's where my historical knowledge runs out, sure some Welsh MNers are much better informed).

Would have loved to have used it for ds but would have been too poncey here in England. Wanted to give it to our new kitten but it was rejected by ds.

Anyway, your thread is going much better than my kitten-naming one. I made the mistake of saying ds wanted to call ours James and got lots of people saying 'James is a lovely name' and telling me I was A Bad Mother for not allowing ds to choose! (We ended up with Arthur, no idea how that happened.)

DS suggested Argen which is in the running but it doesnt bloody mean anything he just made it up! I would shorten to argybargy though

Do you mean the Welsh nick-name Dewi, Colditz? Shortened form of Welsh David meaning 'beloved' (St David is known as Dewi Sant*). But spelt Dewi. And not pron. Dewey, either. Am struggling with how to explain the vowel sound... kind of Dow-y as in Dow Jones but with an 'ee' sound. Ish.

*Apols to Welsh MNers if I've got the spelling wrong, my Dad taught me the odd word but never wrote anything down in Welsh!
