Just got him yesterday He is absolutely scrumptious. He slept curled up in my arm or neck all night last night. He is perfect. He cuddles, licks, plays like a loony! He has the funniest, squeakiest little mew. And he is totally deaf!!! Every now and then we think "did he hear that?" because his ears twitch when there was a sound but after extensive testing we have deduced he is pretty much totally deaf. He has one blue & one green eye. I do not want to call him Bowie or Ziggy thanks. Thinking something to do with colours, like multiple colours e.g. rainbow but not rainbow! Or something a bit fey as he is like a little gift from the fairies he is such a cutie and so bonkers I just adore him.

Please can we have photos of this little beauty? PLEASE!!

colditz · 23/08/2009 13:04

Pulled it off a Welsh name website, so yes, that's the one I mean.

you can but DH took DS out with the camera and memory card in it with his pics so you shall have to wait!

Where is the definition "beloved" shown for Dewey? I get the Welsh thing, my Grandpa was called that because his name was Duane. I adore the name.

it isn't, see Colditz's post below. If you want beloved, you have to go for Dewi (or David which would be a daft name for a cat IMO). And google 'how to pronounce Welsh names' because I really cannot think how to explain the pronunciation of Dewi!

(Apols. to Colditz for being fussy, only my Dad is a Welsh David who was called Dewi occasionally by various - sadly deceased - relatives.)

Oh he sounds just like my white kitty!
One green eye one blue pure white with just an ickle splodge of black on his head...
Hes not deaf though..
Hope you come up with a fab name!

edam · 23/08/2009 13:16

vaguely remember that white cats are more prone to deafness. And sunburn!

edam · 23/08/2009 13:17

(Awwwww at kitten being afraid of the dark, btw, he sounds SO lovely. Wish my kitten was, might stop him hunting me when I'm all tucked up in bed. Ow ow ow ow ow.)

ifthatphoneringsonemoretime · 23/08/2009 13:17

he and my 10 yr old (hearing) pure white cat are participating in this cat study maybe if I can work myself up to trying to swab them for dna!

Gosh.

Good luck trying to swab his mouth... make sure you have a stock of antibacterial stuff for cuts and grazes and plenty of plasters that are not covered in kids' cartoon characters first.

OrmIrian · 23/08/2009 13:43

You could shorten it to Tir or Nog I suppose. AFAIK it's pronounced Tear not Tire. So Tir sounds nice.

Or you could go for TirnaMog
