New Pup Name Suggestions ...

It's looking likely that we will take on a rescue Springer Pup and although he has a name, we'll be changing it.

He has an all Liver (Brown) face and a white body and I've been trying to think if a suitable name. It needs to be a short, sharp name for calling him back when he bounds off into the distance (we've had several Springers so know what they are like )

The names I've shortlisted so far are

  1. Archie
  2. Alfie

But, I'd like to play on his all liver face if I can. DH suggested Deefa i.e. D for dog

Thanks ...

Elvis

That is what DS wanted to call our new pup - she is called Freddie though as a compromise.

..and if it you get a cocker spaniel next call it Joe or Jarvis.

MincePirate · 02/12/2008 21:28

Rudolph

I think 'Dave' us a BRILLIANT name but we have friends called Dave and it'd be a bit weird ...

Shouting 'Dave' after a runaway Springer would just be hilarious !!!

Yes, stick to your guns, tillyboo!

Why not order one of those personalised leads that says 'ARCHIE' all over it?

Brown. because he is.

LittleB · 03/12/2008 11:59

Could call him after something brown, I like country names for working dogs, how about bracken, bramble or conker? I do like archie and alfie though! Mine are called rhubarb and thistle.

TheSeriousOne · 03/12/2008 12:22

I called my dog Doofus. I don't really recommend that one.

For me, Oscar, Charlie, Rufus are all good names.

But, if I had my time over, I'd call my dog DYSON cos he's a bloody HOOVER (Choc lab)
