Wouldn't let anything that couldn't wipe its own arse sit on my bed let alone sleep on it - bleugh!!

Mind you I let DS sleep there so that arguement doesn't really fit!

imananny · 25/09/2008 11:13

dog isnt even allowed upstairs!!!!

will be watching!!!

Chequers · 25/09/2008 11:14

Yuck no way. Ditto not being allowed upstairs.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 25/09/2008 11:15

no because she would probably pee on me! dog allowed upstairs when i am there and awake. on a night she has her kennel outside a large catflap and a bed inside the kitchen. she usually sleeps in her kennel as she has to fight the cats for her bed inside.

is this about the woman whose dog bit off her nose? i read about it on sky news.

imananny · 25/09/2008 11:19

madamec - might not be able to wipe its own arse, but can def lick it, and their balls (bet DS doesnt do that)

RTKangaMummy · 25/09/2008 11:20

OrmIrian · 25/09/2008 11:38

We don't have one but yes it has been known in the past. And cats. And pet rats for that matter.

So the program is going to tell me we are going to die of cancer/plague/skin disease is it? Ah well....

ladytophamhatt · 25/09/2008 11:39

the dog isn't even allowed upstairs.
god teh thought makes me wretch.

imananny · 25/09/2008 11:53

no nothing about cancer etc - the programme showed a woman who had her nose bitten off by her so called pet - though he was a rescue so you never know what treatment they might have suffered

OrmIrian · 25/09/2008 11:55

Oh. Poor woman

As has been said many times you never know how any dog will react in any given circumstances.

theultimatethreadkiller · 25/09/2008 11:57

It was very shocking That poor woman. I used to let me dog sleep on my bed when I lived alone, but now that we have a child, the dogs stay downstairs - and having watched that I am glad. Reminds you that a dog is, afterall, an animal.

purpleduck · 25/09/2008 12:30

missed it...what did they say??
Both dogs often sleep in our bed..

our little dog and my dh cuddle all night

theultimatethreadkiller · 25/09/2008 12:33

the woman had always had dogs and was an experienced owner. one of her dogs always slept in her bed - she had owned this dog for 6 years. one night, I think she said 2 or 3 am, the dog bit her nose off! They think the dog had a bad dream and attacked in its sleep. Horrendous injuries and the woman has had lots of operations so far and will need many more.

purpleduck · 25/09/2008 13:12

woah!!!

handlemecarefully · 25/09/2008 14:53

I don't because dogs are quite mucky creatures (and I love my dogs). Haven't really factored in the risk of nose biting off incidents tbh!

MuffinMclay · 25/09/2008 14:57

Only when dh is away.

Otherwise he sleeps on the bed in the spare room (now even referred to as the dog's bed ).

A friend of mine who runs a dog training school thinks it is cruel NOT to let dogs sleep on your bed because they'll get lonely (and her dog is huuuuuuge). That is going a bit far to my mind.

My old dog (now dead) was not allowed upstairs because he had an unpredictable temperament and could well have flipped in the night if disturbed.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 25/09/2008 15:09

when i'm on my own - then yes they sleep in with me - well that's a lie, they sleep where they want (but I have a bungalow) then again I also have a gate on DS's door, which I usually lock at night so they can't get in there and sleep in his room - althou to be fair to them they seem to know his rooms out of bounds as they never go in there - the bitch does if DS is poorly and lays ont he floor next to his bed but other wise they stick to mine.

messageinabottle · 25/09/2008 15:11
