What do you mean you swopped them?

Swopped them with who?

Very strange goings on indeed - did they come with a 30 money no quibble money back guarentee?

Put some pics up on you r blog Cod. I'd love to see new kitties

TheMadHouse · 02/04/2008 17:15

Cod - did you know they were feral when you got them?

FIL has a farm and people always want the cute feral kittnes, but they dont often manage to tame them.

Oh this makes me think of a recent freecycle advert

'We have two cats, since we had our baby we are worried about the hair and the potential of smothering. One of our cats is very cute so we are keeping her, but the old one with a gammy leg is no longer welcome in our house. Please take her away. i will leave her in the front garden for you to collect at your convenience'

Okay I have slightly misquoted but you get the gist?

They got such a slating, and rightly so.

PestoMonster · 02/04/2008 17:21

Well I don't blame you. My parents rescued 2 such cats a few years back from their local cat rescue centre and they were so timid. My parents thought they would get better in time, but they haven't.

It is such a shame. You can't cuddle them, stroke them and they run away at the first inkling of anyone new. It is a real pain. My parents soo regret their decision now.

ekittens, cool. Where can I download them?

misdee · 02/04/2008 17:27

we had a wild cat when i was young, not wuite feral but close to it. he never did tame at all. he used to come and have his meals and we couldnt stroke him or anything. he ran away and went completely wild when we got our dog. used to see him over the farmers fields all the time, he lived wild for quite a while.

TheDevilWearsPenneys · 02/04/2008 17:28

I can't feel sorry for them Pest, they took the choice to take those cats and be responsible for them and bully for them that they are not the 'perfect pet ' they wanted.

This sort of attitude annoys me enormously. I have a friend who gave up her dog after 6 months as he was 'too energetic'.
My parents have a dog they are constantly annoyed by, he has bowel problems and is very lethargic and snores a lot, but they deal with that, and love him still, as they chose to make him part of their family.

FrannyandZooey · 02/04/2008 17:28

sorry cod I was being mean
has it made you feel a bit upset?

FrannyandZooey · 02/04/2008 17:29

I mean about giving them back, not what I said

catinthehat · 02/04/2008 17:34

Glad you did the right thing , sounds like you've given another rescue pair a good home instead.

girlfrommars · 02/04/2008 17:37

It sounds like you've done the best thing for you and for the kittens. You've given a home to two cats that need one and the kittens can go to a home that is more suitable.

Kittens that aren't keen on human contact probably found a home with children very stressful. Now the Cats Protection people know what the kittens are like, they can find them a quieter home with people who don't mind not seeing them much.
