Is it possible to feed cats through a letterbox?!

I’ve been feeding my friend’s cats for the past week. As she was due back from her holiday this evening, I put the keys through her letterbox after I had locked up today. Unfortunately her flight has been cancelled and she won’t be back until Sunday evening. What do I do?! I’m most concerned about them not having enough water. Would it be crazy to pop some ice cubes and food pouches through the letterbox?! Or, will they be okay until Sunday?

Very glad there is a happy ending for you & the cats!

And tell your friend that MN have decreed she MUST fit a cat flap!

Brilliant news😊

And I second the call for a catflap

OMG she lives 90 minutes away and actually asked you to mind her cats? That's ridiculous. Does she pay your fuel costs? Tell her to find a local next time.

I think OP was housitting - not travelling there everyday😊

Glad this is sorted but I wouldn't have worried leaving my cat 48 hours with topped up water and food. Not ideal perhaps but not like they were left with nothing at all for 48 hours.
