My poor DH is in surgery as we speak to sort out the metal work in his still broken arm. That's bad enough right.....?

We're looking after a friend's Boxer for a week. After taking DH to hospital at 7:30am, then rushing back with kids so we can get ready for school... I walk in the door and find...

DH's unopened Father's Day cake.. gone
DS2's remains of Birthday cake.... gone
My chocolates DH bought in Finland.... gone
My Gordon Ramsay birthday present chocolates... gone
A packet of Haribo Banana sweets.... gone
My DS2's Lego set (only) partially chewed
A pack of playing cards .. chewed
My beautiful cream rug, COVERED in smeared chocolate cake/chocolates

The B*ard had gone into to kitchen and jumped up at the work top and grabbed all these things and proceeded to chew his way through all the packaging and devour THE LOT.

Problem is, this is ONE PAMPERED POOCH, and is obviously not used to being told NO. He also doesn't tolerate being locked away, so HAS to have to run of the house.

Ho Hum, only another 7 days with him.

You sound remarkably tolerant. I'd have packed the dog off to kennels after the first incident.

Hopeitwontbebig Have only read op, which was over a week ago now. But after all those chocolates and sweets is the dog still alive?

It only takes 68g of cocoa to harm/kill a dog. Its VERY toxic to them.

Im a vn and have seen many many dogs (mainly boxers and labs) come in that have eaten lots of chocolate. especially at xmas.

So was just wondering what happened?

You had so much to deal with, pils, dogs eating everything and not getting on with eachother, dh in hospital and being 6 months preggers! All through this it seems your children have been the best behaved!!!

im a bit confused to be honest, why have you got this dog? i had to PAY someone £20 a day to have my dog while i was on holiday, it was worth it so he iddnt have to be kenneled (he had isshooos) but why with all that is going on have you been lumbered with it. Agree with the chocolate thing, V dangerous.

so, 7 days you had him, that would be £140 plus damages then!!!
