I'v been promising my DD that I'l get her another bunny, she has one already but it was looking sad and was in need of a friend. I took her to the bunny shop and told her she could choose any one she wanted - OMG she fell in love with the most expensive one in the shop. I tried to fob her off with a cheaper one but she broke her hart, I'd told her she could choose any one so I was obliged to get it - not that we cant accommodate it or look after it, must admit its a georgeous bunny - at least it wont get lost under the fence

Is there any MN's out there with a GIANT bunny?

giant rabbits are quite weird looking don't you think?
Saw one for the first time last week when buying dog food, and thought at first 'how cute' but then thought it's at least as big as a cat and those ears are just humongous...
so erm, good luck with it
you'll need plenty of food is my guess

Hillary · 30/01/2007 18:46

We only got it this afternoon so I'l take some pics tomorrow and try and put them on MN, She's only 10 weeks old and the size of a cat! They said she will grow to the size of a dog!! OMG!!! I can just see DD with her saddle

I think she's the British Giant she has the same markings as the English.

Her ears are black and I'd say about 20cm already. She so gentle (Gentle Giant)

They do look a bit funny all long and pointy, I suppose they grow into it, It says in my book that alot of people buy childrens wendy houses to keep them in - Oh heck!

I must admit I thought you were talking of, ahem, the 'other' rabbit!

charliecat · 30/01/2007 18:51

Ask on freecycle.org.uk I think if anyone has an old wendy house you could house it in?

NotAnOtter · 30/01/2007 18:51

does it have to have its own floor?

southeastastra · 30/01/2007 18:51

everyone's blinkin sex mad today

misdee · 30/01/2007 18:52

oh my, i lvoe giant rabbits, i was looking at some in the pet shop last year, they looked like full grown rabbits at 10 weeks old lol.

They do require a lot of space to run about in and do eat a lot. argos used to do a cheapish £70 wooden playhouse, which you can then build up into a run. HTH.

NotAnOtter · 30/01/2007 18:52

ikea do a malm double bed its ony cheap

Hillary · 30/01/2007 18:53

Oh georgeous, she's the same but black and white - has a black stripe down back and equal dots either side of body, black ears black nose like a muzzle and black eyes (the rest being white) - you should see the hutch they recommended I bought - my toddler got in it!

OP posts:
NotAnOtter · 30/01/2007 18:54

can you ride her?

Hillary · 30/01/2007 18:56

£150 for a rabbit - really?? They are cute, saw lots at a county show in the US last summer. But £150!!

Hillary · 31/01/2007 19:04

I know crazy isnt it! but then thats me to a T I don't spoil my children - I just give them what they want - OOOH thats gonna get a few people uptight.

Would you believe though this bunny poos hazlenuts! Not joking you could pass them off as marbles

She's such a gentle rabbit - I went back to the shop today to get the rabbit food I went in there for yesterday! I wanted to get her a shelter for her run and they advised me to buy a large dog kennel - I shall use a dustbin on its side for now.........

Does anyone know where you can buy stuff for Giant Rabbits? I'v looked but no luck yet.

lol shosha!

I'd be scared of that rabbit

Hillary · 01/02/2007 17:53

I'v been told it will grow to the size of a large spaniel...........

No more cats in my garden

I put my little dwarf lop with the giant free in my garden today - the little bunny gave the big bunny what for and the giant jumped back into her hutch

I was hoping they would get on - the lady in the shop said it was possible to pair them, maybe not!

Our dwarf bunny beat up our cat once, when bunny got fed up of the cat's interfering nose.
