Thanks njm, I really didn't expect such a quick response! I'll take a look. I have got one sorted, yes. He's a lovely boy and won't give me any surprises! Why are you selling if you don't mind me asking?

That's a shame. I hope you get a good home for her soon, where are you? I'm in West Yorkshire and bought him through the stables where I have lessons. I'm so nervous so will probably be on here looking for advice until I get my head around everything.

theslownorris · 01/01/2008 12:47

I haven't been on here for ages . Tesco also do equestrian items online. I've had a few things from there and have been pleased with the quality. It's always worth checking it regularly as they have excellent reductions too. .

Tesco! Thanks, I'll take a look there too. I have been advised to buy Shires Chillcheeta, are there other comparable brands?

HeppyChick · 01/01/2008 12:53

That's great, thanks njm - I feel such a pillock asking such basic questions at the stables, they are fantastic but I don't like to keep bothering them. Not crass at all by the way.

Shires are pretty good, the Robinsons own brand (Requisite) are ok too but I've found that they are not over-generous so you may need to go up a size. Different makes fit different horses better. For example I have native ponies and Horsewear (Rhino,Rambo etc) don't seem to accomodate their shape too well, yet Masta and Saxon fit fine.

HeppyChick · 01/01/2008 13:00

He needs a stable rug for now, which weight do I buy, he is clipped. You don't know how much I appreciate having you to ask on here!

Oh god, now I'm really going to show myself up as the complete novice I am! He is clipped on legs, half neck etc. . I don't know what breed he is, except that he isn't a cob . I can tell you the colour

No, I wouldn't say he was fine but not a cart horse either.

theslownorris · 01/01/2008 13:12
