Noah Donohoe: the latest news is very bad

Many Mumsnetters will have already seen and kindly supported my threads and those of others about the disappearance and death of young Noah Donohoe in Belfast in June 2020. For those who haven't, Noah's naked body was retrieved from a drain after he had been missing for 6 days. Two years later, his grieving mother Fiona, with her sister Niamh at her side, is still having to fight for the truth about her adored son's disappearance and death and for justice for him.

Yesterday, Fiona was given official notice by the government/NIO that a Public Interest Immunity Certificate has been granted. It was signed by the new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Shailesh Vara, MP for North West Cambridgeshire. This means that the police/PSNI are allowed to keep hundreds of pages of information from their botched investigation into the disappearance and death of this innocent and precious child secret. It was received by the police/PSNI and Crown Solicitors Office on the 19th July and his mother was not told for over a week.

Mr Vara was appointed after Brandon Lewis resigned from Boris Johnson's cabinet. He has only been in his post as NI Secretary for two weeks. This is not a good start. Signing the PII Certificate so swiftly indicates to me that he has not taken due time and care to learn all the facts in Noah's case. I think anyone who concludes from this that Mr Vara is just a government and police puppet could be forgiven.

For those Mumsnetters not in Northern Ireland who believe that PII Certificates don't concern you, a PII Certificate application from the police/PSNI protected Robert Howard, a known prolific and violent child killer and rapist. It allowed him to travel to England, Scotland and Ireland. He was only brought to justice when he raped and killed a child in Kent. This is only one example of many.

If you are not outraged, then you have not been paying attention. What can you do? Please think about this and do what you can. Very glad to see that Shailesh Vara's decision to sign the PII Certificate is now being reported in his Cambridgeshire constituency. He also seems to be ignoring all contact about what he has done, whether from his own constituents or from Northern Ireland. Has he replied to anyone?

Would you really get a group like SF/PIRA involved when they have been involved in the murder of someone else's child?

I think not. SF/PIRA murdered Paul Quinn, tortured him for hours and broke every bone in his body.

His parents have been fighting a long, hard battle since 2007 which included SF/PIRA telling lies about him.

This murder still follows SF/PIRA about to this day.

Paul Quinn's murder was ignored due to the idea the peace process itself is sanctified.

The Donohoe family and supporters cannot on the one hand welcome SF/PIRA involvement in their campaign. And on the other do nothing to stand in solidarity with the Quinn family whose son was murdered by....SF/PIRA.

I'm sure you wouldn't either.

It stands to reason that SF/PIRA are NOT involved in any campaign for Noah Donohoe for moral reasons given their disgusting behaviour over Paul Quinn. They are involved to take political pot shots at the British Government, Secretary of State and the PSNI.

By allowing SF/PIRA to become part of their campaign and even in the front....I'm afraid the Donohoes have made a huge mistake and turned their campaign into a political football.

If your focus is justice, you don't in good faith bring in an organisation like SF/PIRA who've spent years denying justice to the Quinn family.

The Donohoes are not involving PIRA or any similar groups who were on the other side during the troubles. They welcome cross party support from all political parties governing NI today in 2022, and that includes SF, who received the most votes in NI in the recent election. Noah's mummy Fiona and auntie Niamh are against violence in all its forms, as am I. With all due respect DownNative, you have already posted extensively on this thread and made your point. This is a thread made by me for Noah. Noah is innocent in all this as I trust you will agree. Whether deliberately or not, you are again derailing this thread for Noah. Please, make your own thread rather than posting further on this one.

i was looking into this as per your post.

I am confused about a few things.

is it that you want the persons details who led the police to the storm drain? What did the police say when asked?

is it that you think it could have been a paramilitary group who did this?

or is it that you think the person in jail who confessed to this is responsible?

do you dispute drowning as the cause of death?

With all due respect, the Donohoes HAVE involved SF/PIRA in their campaign which is very clear to see.

From meeting Michelle O'Neill and Mary Lou Mcdonald both of whom continue to justify SF/PIRA atrocities including against children to the organising of public protests.

But SF/PIRA have also done nothing whatsoever in relation to the murder of Paul Quinn. This and other murders continues to follow SF/PIRA to this day as recent articles attached show.

I note there's zero call from you here for SF/PIRA to give all information they have on other murders to the authorities. Yet they continue to refuse to do so. It should really be automatic that you would stand in solidarity against SF/PIRA on these issues without anyone having to point it out.

As far as I can see, you've tried very hard to not reference SF/PIRA in this thread until others have brought it out. The people of Great Britain deserve to know the kinds of people you've now got involved in your campaign. Unrepentant murderers.

Like I said, you've made a serious mistake bringing SF/PIRA in to all this as it certainly doesn't help your campaign. And does also raise SF/PIRA hypocrisy in relation to other children they've murdered as well as covered up.

Do the right thing and seriously distance yourselves from SF/PIRA. Those who condemn violence in ALL its forms will not seriously rub shoulders with the leaders of SF/PIRA.

Anything else is hypocrisy. SF/PIRA only have one agenda here - to use Noah Donohoe's tragic death as a weapon against the UK Government, Secretary of State and the PSNI. For them, it is not about justice.

Of course, Noah Donohoe is innocent in this.

Yet you do him zero favours bringing in SF/PIRA who refuse to admit to or provide information in relation to other people's children.
