Many Mumsnetters will have heard about Noah Donohoe, a bright, musical, sporty, beautiful, gentle, funny, kind and innocent 14 year old Belfast boy, who disappeared on Father's Day 2020 while on a cycle ride to meet his schoolfriends. Noah never arrived and tragically his naked body was found in a storm drain 6 days later.

This Monday, 20th June 2022, at 6.11pm, on the eve of the 2 year anniversary of Noah's disappearance, there will be a gathering in Liverpool at the waterfront by Cunard Building. The time has been chosen because it is the last time Noah was seen on CCTV. All are welcome to join in, to remember Noah and to show solidarity with Fiona, so please just turn up. Nearly 2 years after his disappearance, Noah's mother Fiona and his auntie Niamh are still fighting for the truth about what happened to their beloved Noah and for justice for him. Thank you to those many Mumsnetters who have signed Fiona's petition on Change against files in the police investigation being kept secret. There is a new Secretary of State for Northern Ireland after Brandon Lewis MP resigned from Boris Johnson's government this week. We can only hope and pray that this proves to be positive for Noah's case. 💙

Young Noah Donohoe just didn't stand a chance, when you look at the hate openly displayed to this day by some members of society. They are a hardened, hate-filled minority of a community, but what is being done by the PSNI and the good majority of that community to stop them?

The images are of bonfires only a couple of days ago - in the place where Noah disappeared and died - you can see the sectarian and misogynist hate speech graffiti, including 'ALL TAIGS ARE TARGETS', together with the burning of flags, election posters, images of the Pope, and also effigies were burnt. Taig is a derogatory term for Catholic people. Some Mumsnetters will already be aware that this was the word also used by PSNI officers to mock the body of a person who died by suicide, after they had moved, posed, unclothed and exposed, photographed and videoed him, then photoshopped speech bubbles on and shared those images - this was also in Belfast, where Noah disappeared and died.

Just like Noah's disappearance and death, I can't imagine that the PSNI will put too much time and energy into investigating this either:

Unfortunately a very vocal minority of people have chosen to complain to MNHQ about the threads about Noah. Whether they are motivated by a lack of compassion, by bigotry, by racism, a combination of the three or something else, I can only guess. Noah's mummy is trolled on social media, so this has come as no surprise, although it is a disappointment on here. They won't win. Justice for Noah. 💙

Fiona and Niamh Donohoe are organising a peaceful protest on Saturday 13th August 2022 in Belfast. Further details are to be finalised and will follow soon, but they want to give advance notice of the date and place, so that hopefully as many people as possible will be able to arrange to join them.

Fiona and her sister Niamh thank everyone who attended the peaceful protests in Strabane and Derry yesterday against the PII Certificate decision. This show of support not only gives them strength to fight on, but also shows those in power that Noah has a voice and they need to listen.

Please think about whether you are able to be in Belfast on Saturday 13th August to lend your voice and your support to Noah and his mother. All are welcome - including children - and are very much needed in this peaceful protest against the PII certificate and for the truth for Fiona and justice for Noah. Noah cannot speak up for himself and is relying on all decent people to speak up for him.
