Petition to get teaching staff vaccinated

Afternoon, I don't even know of this will work. I'm begging people to have a look at this petition. I just want school staff to be safe. I just want us to be able to open schools safely to be able to look after your children. Bubbles constantly closing meaning keyworkers and NHS staff are unable to work. This virus has wiped out myself and 6 colleagues in the past week and the children too. Thank you. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/554316

Signed. Not a chance it’ll happen unfortunately, my Aunty works in covid ICU in tier 4 area and hasn’t even been given a date for a vaccination.

Social workers especially have had sod all protection through this. Teachers might be in a classroom with lots of kids, but they don’t have to enter a home (where strange people may have been) where social distancing is hard, the home doesn’t have ventilation or even a through clean before they enter and see upto about seven homes per day, each different each day.
Transport workers can’t give the bus a clean down every journey and are stuck of someone doesn’t want to wear a mask/open windows etc. Especially those taking said school children to school. If kids don’t distance in school, do you think they will out of it???
I’m sick of this protect teachers but sod anyone else who might need protecting.....

This is good. But even the majority of NHS staff are still not eligible for vaccination as we still don't have enough vaccines to go round. Yes, when vaccine supply increases, I support teachers being prioritised along with care home and health and social workers and high risk individuals.

I would love to be vaccinated. As a CEV teacher I really need this to happened but as a person with anaphylaxis I'm not allowed to have it. It's so scaryz

It's not a race to the bottom Underadesk. Everyone in risky roles should be vaccinated ASAP. People may say teachers should be vaccinated but I don't think anyone would disagree with the fact that social workers, police, fire personnel etc should also be vaccinated as soon as possible. There are a lot of teachers so their voices can be heard more often, that's all.

@Underadesk - Social workers are already getting it, and health and social care staff. I’ve been offered it and I am not frontline at the moment, and I felt very guilty at the idea of getting it when in my area haven’t been offered it yet.

Im a carer in a care home and still waiting for mine. If we not had ours yet, its going to be awhile before any teachers will.
