"I'd not..." vs. "I hadn't..."

Two contractions for the same thing: "I had not considered..."

Opinions?

ooh. I dunno.
Maybe "I'd not" when the emphasis is on the negative
and "I hadn't" when using as an auxiliary verb (if that's what I mean, brain has rusted since my last Latin exam)
i.e.
I hadn't considered defecting to Netmums
but
I'd not long come over from the darkside
