URGENT- Sunday evening soft play party - would you go?

Hi all,

Want to know if you would be willing to take your 4 yr old to a soft play bday party on Sunday evening from 5-7pm or is that too late / bothersome / throwing off Monday morning schedule situation?

Looking to book bday party for DD and have couple of options. Other 2 venues and parties have recently been done by her classmates so either I repeat it which are Sunday morning 11-1 or I do the soft play one for which exclusive hire is only available evening.

Which one would you prefer if you were the mum, repeat venue party Sunday morning or a soft play party Sunday evening. I need to pay deposits tomorrow morning!

I’d go with repeat venue in the morning. There’s too much stress on Sunday evenings without trying to fit ins party too.

No I wouldn’t go, sorry too late and I want that time to wind my child down ready for the week of pre school and routine, not have him buzzing off the walls

Do the morning one. It doesn't matter to 4 year olds that they've been somewhere before

Repeat is fine for the kids anyway at that age they like the familer

I wouldn't come to the evening one. Too late for a 4 year old especially with school in the morning.

If I went I'd be really annoyed and fed up and wishing I was elsewhere. I think kids like familiarity at that age anyway.

Far too late for 4 year olds. I wouldn't go. The morning one is fine. All kids parties get repeated. No one will bat an eyelid.

We just went to a soft play party 5-7pm on a Saturday night. My kids are 5 and 7 and it was a 6 year olds party.

It was fine, but they didn’t end up getting to bed til after 8, which is late for my DD5, but not too bad. She was tired the next day though.

I wouldn’t be keen to do it on a Sunday night, not with 4 year olds. I’d book the morning party.

There’s been lots of repeat parties at DC’s schools over the years; kids really don’t care.

5-7 on a Sunday would be too late, unless it was DC’s special friend I’d be ‘busy’ for that

Too late for my almost 4 year old, she’s in bed by 7!

since September she’s been to 5 parties across just 3 venues (2 of them soft play!). She’s not the slightest bit bothered that it’s somewhere she’s been before, in fact it makes preparing her for the event easier as she’s the sort of child who likes to know what’s going on in advance so knowing what to expect helps.

Also I live in an area where there’s basically one soft play in the town and one church hall type place that does party hire.

Almost every birthday party we’ve been too is either at one of these venues or at someone’s house. My kids don’t care at all that it’s the same place every time!

I've been to a Sunday evening soft play party and it was fine.
This was a July party and I do feel the light evening, warm air etc made me feel ok with it.
I dont know why but I wouldn't be happy going to the same party on a dark Feb Sunday.

We often hired soft play early evening, was so much nicer. Loads of parents came (one place had a bar Grin) each time. We have three ds do it was a really easy party.

I wouldn’t have a problem with the evening party personally. We have a lot of jobs to do on a Sunday in prep for the week ahead and also have to fit in DS’s swimming lesson, so morning/lunchtime parties are more of a pain for us. Whereas with the evening one, he’d tire himself out at the party and be straight into bath/bed when we got home. We’re not rigid about bedtimes though, as long as the routine itself is followed 🤷‍♀️

I wouldn't go as it's late on a Sunday evening. Much prefer morning personally

I wouldn’t go, Sunday evening I want to have dinner & a glass of wine. Wind down & get organised for week ahead. My 4yo would’ve had a 7pm bedtime too and the last day of the week I want that any later is a Sunday.

11-1, 10-12, 12-2pm in that order of preference for birthday party time slots at that age

I'd go if ds was invited but he's really laid back and being out of routine wouldn't bother him

I'd prefer the repeat 11-1 though and would book that if I were the birthday mum
