How do iIcreate a Dinosaur party?

Please? For DS's 6th birthday. He has told all his friends he is having a dinosaur party. So far i have thought of
Dinosaur cake (but not sure of the detail, i.e how to make it)
A sort of Musical Excavation - get one of those excavation kits - a model dinosaur in plaster, and they have to pass the chisel around and chip like mad when the music stops.
Treasure hunt - using bones or fake bones(?)

Any ideas at all for food, games, activities, party bags, all gratefully received.

I have been browsing in the MN Village Green Cupcake Marquee - any experts from the competition like to advise me?

thank you!

Collision - thank you! they have arrived and I tried to CAT you...but didn't know about your name change so it didn't work! I have put out a 'thank you' shout out in 'Chat'...and we are about to start work on the gingerbread dinos, the cut-out icing dinos for the cake, and the dino-shapped sandwiches!
Thank you SO much....they arrived in the nick of time - so the Royal Mail did not hurry themselves!

Let me send you something nice?

The party was fab - I decorated the house, and garden with the flags (from HMC!) and some inflatable dinos, we made brilliant dino cookies, dino-shaped sandwichs in 'Jurassic Jam, Cheesosaurus etc, I scrubbed and disinfected some flints and flat rocks from the garden and put them on the table with the food on top, the cake was quite simple - decorated with icing cut-out dinos and mottled in food colouring. We only had two causalties - a wobbly tooth met it's Tooth Fairy in a stampede during 'what's the time Tyranosarus Rex?' (Quickly converted to a more sedate game - 'Iguanadons Footsteps'), and a tantrum when the Pinata burst and one child of dramatic sensibilities didn't get 'enough' sweets.
And me. I feel as if I have lived through the entire mesozoic era over the w/e, and will have to be resurrected by paleantologists from under a sedimentary layer of duvets and cold flannels.

Special thanks to FlibbertyJibbet, HandlemeCarefully and Collision!
