Eighties fans - your thoughts please!

I am having an 80s theme party (a good few weeks off yet, so plenty of time) BUT I need a MN brainstorm session to give me some extra ideas.
I want to decorate a room to look like an 80s club/disco ..... some ideas please !

Lots and lots of snogging! Sigh..................

lots of neon lights, saturday night fever dance floor, umbrellas in cocktail glasses. fake fountains and flamingos

keep them coming ! I'm OK with the music - it's the decor I need ideas for!

i always associate black, grey and red together as being very 80s, and lots of black wood ash furniture.

Fluorescent also very 80s.

Those big posters with a black background, bad graphics of sultry women wearing flattish hats, red pouting lips and smoking...do you know what I mean? Like our bathroom tiles...

excellent ideas - I can print off pics using PC - we have an A3 printer which will be good.
Not sure I can manage a fake fountain though

Get onto Ebay and buy some of those Athena posters - you know moody shots of Ferrari's with red neon lights round them.
Not to mention the guy with baby style.

Maybe have some hairspray and frosted eye shadow/palepink lippy in the loos for the girls and lurid hair gel for the boys?

Seriously, whoever said Porsches is probably right. Maybe I mean them instead of Ferraris. Just remember sports cars (it was before I knew the difference)

Smoke machines..... definitely smoke machines......could never see the bands for all the damn smoke......

Wild cocktails with umbrellas and sparklers..

Hacienda in Manchester, all black and grey and freezing (sorry I digress)

Nouvelle (or nouveau) cuisine. e.g 1 pea, 1/2 a potato and 4 drops of gravy all arranged artistically for £80

Almost forgot....Filofax..you could have place names on filofax sheets,or invitations,what about Harry Enfield as "Loadsamoney"? Could you bung up a picture of him somewhere?...I could go on for ever....Remember footless tights first time around?(am I really that old?!)

How about a "Who Shot JR" poster? A free headband and pair of neon socks for guests!
Ridiculous cocktails with lots of added extras in the glasses.
A collection box for "Support the Miners"!
A winsome picture of Charles & Di.
Buy some really cheap t-shirts from pri-mark & make a few slogans: "Frankie says" and all that stuff.
You could just pop out to Topshop for your own outfit, there is so much 80s retro stuff around at the moment.
