Is it OK to go trick or treating not on 31st?

Only if you have arranged it with the people you are visiting (although I think that applies to the 31st too).

The sort of unwritten rule round here is that you only visit houses that have been decorated.

When ever you do go please don't come to my house and when I don't answer the door because I have a poorly child in the house please don't egg my house.

I won't have the house decorated, sweets ready or pumpkin outside. It's unfair on unsuspecting neighbours as well.

Not acceptable. A lot of people dislike people knocking on their doors on hallowe'en itself, let alone for days before and after. If you can't celebrate on the day then either don't celebrate at all or don't celebrate in a way that will annoy everyone.

Absolutely not. Halloween is for halloween night only, if you knock on a door on the wrong night people will think you're nuts.
