We appear to have filled another thread Shock

I have several tons quite a lot of fabric, but remarkably little plain stuff, so I was going to have to go shopping anyway. The green was once curtains (in previous house) - the question is whether there is still a whole curtain somewhere (in which case I have plenty). If not, then it just means buying less of the bright colours to match the dragons (I still need it for linings), and finding some acceptable dragon green.

Blatherskite · 11/09/2012 17:09

Stick with green then.

Tinkerisdead · 11/09/2012 17:35

Greeeeeeen. Def green.

When is this dragon bash? It dawned on me at 2am that i need to really focus on rapunzel. I keep getting drawn into rainbows but rapunzel is nov!! Make sure i book the venue this week. Kick my arse til i do it please.

stealthsquiggle · 11/09/2012 17:42

Dragon bash is in Mid October help, panic, stress Aaaages yet.

I withdraw my comments about rainbow cupcakes. look at these instead

OP posts:
Tinkerisdead · 11/09/2012 21:05

No.

These

stealthsquiggle · 11/09/2012 21:59

oh yes, I had forgotten about those. DS saw some ice cream cone cupcakes (non-themed) on the same stall as the rainbow ones at the weekend and was very taken with the idea.

I'm going to be a gibbering wreck until 12 tomorrow now. It's DD's first session at pre-school!!

Even going for a run didn't help tonight

Tinkerisdead · 12/09/2012 03:23

Oh no! I'd say enjoy the peace but the house will sound empty. You'll only feel sad a short while them you'll start to look forward to the free time. Think of the things you couldcook whilst they're both out.

Blatherskite · 12/09/2012 09:22

Everything was fine. They had a dragon jigsaw which she loved so I was given a kiss and happily waved out of the door.

2 hours 39 minutes until I can go and get her again....

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend · 12/09/2012 09:51

Hope your little girl enjoys pre school blathers (and hope you're ok too). I'm sure she'll have lots of fun and some great stories to tell you about her day.

Today is my little girls 3rd birthday :) she's gone to visit her great granny so I have a few minutes peace while she's away and my youngest plays with all her sisters new toys!!

I LOVE those tangled cupcakes and ice cream cone towers, I wish someone would make them for my birthday. I bought my dd the dvd but she watched 5 minutes of it then ran off to play, I'm going to try again the next rainy day as I actually want to see it.

Well party day is almost here and I'm getting so excited. All I need to buy now is food. Also, I saw a Mr Tumble talking doll in Tesco the other day so I'm going to buy that and let the girls open it on the day of their party. I've even bought them little spotty party dresses to wear.

stealthsquiggle · 12/09/2012 09:53

Hooray for dragon jigsaw (and dragons in general).

I cut up remains of curtain last night (it is the last one - I found the scraps of the other one Sad) - I reckon I have enough for about 15 dragon bums. Trying to decide if I have time to go to fabric shop at lunchtime, or if I should focus on making tails first.

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 12/09/2012 09:55

Grin at spotty party dresses. They sound great.

Somewhere buried in this thread I had a link to dragon tail fabric.....must hunt for it, and the instructions for both (I thought I would make 3 sets of wings & tails and they can form part of whatever relay races I come up with).

Spotty party dresses sound perfect. Good luck with the party, I hope it goes perfectly

Tinkerisdead · 12/09/2012 10:52

Little friend that is lovely to put them in spotty dresses. Make sure you take loads of pictures of the detail BEFORE kids have trashed it all. We love to see the finishing touches.

Stealth right thats it i'm getting stern now... Get thee to the fabric shop get all the fabric you need for these bags and dragon wings etc. that child asked for a day of surprises so get making her some surprises!! No dithering now ..off with you shoo!

stealthsquiggle · 12/09/2012 10:55

Humph. Am working. Honest.

I have ordered fabric for wings & big tails. I have a few days work making bag tails before I need lining fabric, and I have a big meeting tomorrow to prep for.

(I did manage a few sample invitations last night too...)

Oh but i messaged my dad at about 2am telling him he needs to crack on with the rapunzel invites. The poor sod does geaphics/signage for big names like tesco, sainsburys and has just spent the last three months designing and producing all signs/graphics for the olympics. He's knackered and then i come up with grandfatherly duties!

I'm gonna put 'come and let your hair down' geddit?!

Tinkerisdead · 12/09/2012 10:58

Oo oo how did you do the invites then?
I feel lame doung straight forward print outs but well frankly my dad owes me a lot of favours!

stealthsquiggle · 12/09/2012 11:02

recovering from Olympics vs GrandDaughter's party - he needs to get his priorities straight Grin

Dragon invitations are scratch art dragons from Baker Ross - I am trying to work out how to show you a finished one without publishing all the party details on t'internet but they look quite effective.

OP posts:
Tinkerisdead · 12/09/2012 12:27

I'll pm you

stealthsquiggle · 12/09/2012 17:02

apologies to everyone else for a mixed on/off board conversation, but DW, do you really think not seal them at all? I am worried the little horrors darlings might manage to destroy all trace of party details before the actual party, IYSWIM...

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 12/09/2012 17:12

re Tangled invitations - there are lots of variations on this theme around which I think are cool.

OP posts:
Tinkerisdead · 12/09/2012 20:37

Yeah i knew you'd say that about them destroying the party details. Arghh its hard isnt it. Ok seal them. With pva glue? Will it make them curl? Clear nail varnish!

I liked those invites but i saw them so much on pinterest it put me off. I'm meant to be party planning but ive got it in my head to do a photo calender for grandparents xmas gifts but with the dd's staged with props for each photo. Spent all day looking for props.

Blatherskite · 12/09/2012 20:56

I love those Tangled invites! They're beautiful.

Tinkerisdead · 12/09/2012 21:44

Stop it blathers! I've got my dad working on imaging now!!

Wanna hear my plans for this party then?

Blatherskite · 12/09/2012 21:46

Yes, yes, yes :)
