I have always done a 'bag' rather than a bag of stuff
So pencil case, handbag, toiletry bag with a few bit, make up bag or a japanese tied bag from a scarf which was last years & a real success (I keep seeing them use them)

So this year?? I have no ideas, no money & DD's party is right before Christmas; we are having a campfire a film night & a sleepover for 10

So bag ideas?

So I have done:
Pencil cases
Toiletries bag
Make up bag
Drawing on canvas bags
decorating hessian bags
Make your own knotted Japanese bags

There must be something else I can do?

What about making t shirt bags like these? You could find some funky t shirts in a charity shop to make them from.

That is absolutely wonderful

But how much duct tape would I need

Hmm a fair few rolls I should think and a couple of packs of staples!

What about making these paper bags from whatever magazines the girls think are cool?

I have seen handbags made out of face cloths before ( wouldn't fancy presenting them to my teenage dd and her friends though) Xmas Hmm.

A fancy cupcake wrapped in cellophane.

A travel pass holder if they use bus or train a lot.

Christmas cracker stuffed with goodies.

Phone sock or case (inspired)

It's tomorrow

I failed on the bag front

I saw some bags made out of old Tesco carrier bags - knotted together sort of thing. On my phone so can't find/do a link. They looked quite fun to make.

I've also seen them made from strips of fabric like the old rag rug things.

I don't think you're going to beat your Japanese scarf though tbh.

Not bags but how about a nice glass/novelty glass/sundae glass filled with sweets and treats wrapped in cellophane tied with ribbon etc

Or, in keeping with the camping theme....an enamel camp-fire mug with hot chocoalte mix and marshmallows.

Or a pair of thermal socks filled with sweets and treats like above

I don't think I can beat my Japanese scarf bags either Sad

I think croissant's idea of the camping mug is lovely - handy too if any of them are about to start Dof E.

KatyMac · 16/12/2011 17:10

Oh I agree but 10 of them before tomorrow is stretching my abilities too much

Single face packs or a lip balm. Superdrug is your friend...

We have bought a few pretend pandora/troll beads and are plaiting cords for bracelets tonight
