I want a roast but I'm guessing they'll want a takeaway from their favourite Italian later

What did you prefer at 23?

Roast!

My idea d hangover heaven at that age would be turning up to my Mum’s roast dinner. Absolute hanging bliss!

anxiouslemons · 09/04/2023 14:07

As a 20yr old I would've had

KFC for breakfast (at midday)
Chinese for dinner
Lots of 10p crisps
"Full fat" coke.

And I'd still be slim as a rake the next day. Sigh.

ItsCalledAConversation · 09/04/2023 14:08

Depends on the magnitude of the hangover , but if truly serious I’d want a takeaway so I didn’t have to make eye contact with anyone over the dinner table or be particularly grateful about anyone having had to cook.

starrynight19 · 09/04/2023 14:18

Mine would always pick a roast over anything

You sound like a hangover treatment expert!

Mine always was:
Wicked zinger box meal (breakfast)
Lots of Sprite/7Up
Oven canapés (eg mini sausage rolls) or Freeze”n”fry pub lunch
Chinese or Indian

I was 8 stone. Where are you gone, those heady days!

InSpainTheRain · 09/04/2023 14:39

2 DS late teens here - both say roast.

ivfbabymomma1 · 09/04/2023 14:58

It depends on the level of hangover! Mild - medium hangover the a roast is perfect! Severe hangover requires a takeaway!!!

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 09/04/2023 15:02

Takeaway curry for definite.

Meggymoo777 · 09/04/2023 16:09

Oh... nothing beats a roast! Even at 35 I still crave Mums roast chicken dinner after a night out. I make my own... but it's not the same!

A big greasy fry is what I always went for.

Exactly, with a can of Coke to replace lose nutrients (ahem). After that, normal food service can resume although I'd go for the takeaway much as I love a roast.

tatteddear · 09/04/2023 16:26

I'd want a huge spicy curry or a pizza

Abraxan · 09/04/2023 16:52

Dd is 21y and just asked her.

She says she'd want takeaway - preferably something like Chinese.

lljkk · 09/04/2023 16:59

Neither. Give me a quiet dark room by myself.

Forgottenpeeves · 09/04/2023 17:05

Roast!!

User639762456 · 09/04/2023 17:05

Neither, hangovers always make me feel a bit sick

RandomUsernameHere · 09/04/2023 17:20

Takeaway for sure, roasts are so boring

Heroicallyfound · 09/04/2023 17:33

Roast. Because nourishing as well as tasty!

but best parent award for even thinking about it tbh - can you adopt me please?!

IhavethisthingwhereIgetolderbutjustneverwiser · 09/04/2023 17:36

At 20, I'd want whatever didn't cost me money tbh 🤣, especially after a night out!

CottonSock · 09/04/2023 17:37

Takeaway. I didn't enjoy roasts until I was older

SpringIntoChaos · 09/04/2023 17:58

Roast...is the only correct answer in my house 🤣

charliegirl86 · 09/04/2023 18:01

Takeaway no question

StormiDayz · 09/04/2023 18:03

Takeaway. Something like kebab or cheeseburger and chips.

itsabigtree · 09/04/2023 18:04

If I was hungover and 23 and takeaway anyway!!

Roast too rich and gravy not good on a hangover.

Today as a grown up, I'd take the roast Grin

Anotherspacecowboy · 09/04/2023 18:06

100% roast. But tbf I always want a roast dinner. Roast potatoes soak up hangovers, I assumed this was a well known fact?
