TV in the morning - seriously????

Another thing I learn from mumsnet.

Don't get me wrong, the DS are big Cbeebies/DVD fans, much more than I would like (especially DS2).

But it would never actually occur to me to turn the TV on at breakfast-time/before school.

Is this an old-fashioned parenting taboo/hang-up I have?

Do lots of people do this?

Am now at my own because I suppose TV in the morning is no different to TV at night.

We have a TV in our room, when my 2.5 year old wakes in the morning he loves nothing more then to come into our room to snuggle with me and watch a bit of tv, I think it's harmless and it's actuly a lovely cozy time of day for us both to enjoy b4 the day starts

TV in a morning saves my sanity. It allows me some peace to myself to come to and eat my breakfast in peace. I have fond memories of me and my siblings watching early morning cartoons in a morning too before school. I can't see the harm in it.

I guess you do you? We only put the box on if someone is sick. Each to their own innit!

TV goes on for toddler to keep her quiet to let baby keep sleeping. When baby wakes tv goes off and then we have breakfast

I wouldnt call it old fashioned, as child in the mid 80s we always had the TV on in the morning?

The best thing about being a kid was a bowl of cereal on the sofa with some early morning cartoons!

We have some tv on in the morning as my child is NOT a morning person, she normally watches something and eats breakfast while I get ready for work and sort bags out etc. We still chat etc while i am in and out.

I mean...what else are kids going to do at 7am!

She then has over 8 hours of playtime and activities at nursery so I dont really think its a big deal for us.
