Parents of 2 or more - favourites................

just wondering if I'm 'odd' or whether it's 'normal' to have a favourite child when you've got more than one? I love both my boys to bits and would do anything for either of them. But I often find myself thinking that I have a 'favourite' of the two of them - and then feeling guilty.......

I don't have a favourite, mine are both equal evem though one lives with her mum (my ex).
I was my mum's favourite and my brother still resents her for it, quite rightly i think.

Gwenick, I felt the same as you for a few years but now my previous favourite (never admitted openly BTW) has grown up a bit and isn't the same little boy he once was and I now find I genuinely do not have a favourite although I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be closest to me when they are all adults.

Luckily for me I honestly and truly don't have a favourite - they are both quite different in personality so I love different things about them. If I preferred one to the other I would 'out' myself and say so here - it shouldn't be taboo to admit to this.....

I don't think think you can help it if you happen to favour one over the other - as long as you manage to conceal this and it isn't transparently obvious to the less favoured one.

As I said I am fortunate in that I genuinely don't have a preference
