that should say i must be getting old! (27 actually!)

Chaotica · 18/02/2009 09:31

Morning All

Do I dare say things are getting easier? I'd be tempted to agree, but I'd better not invoke the curse of MN so early in the day.

...Besides, it's raining here and it's half term (so all the big kids will be at soft play) - is there anything I can do to tire everybody out which doesn't involve the supermarket?

Your birthday plans sound good, Grrrl. You're so young

GoodGrrrl · 18/02/2009 10:05

i don't feel young! But i think that's sleep deprivation.

I had an interview in work yesterday, after very little sleep, and i've just realised some things i should have said when they asked me a question, but didn't. I had it all written in my notes before i went in aswell The rest of it was great though. I hope i haven't let myself down.

Toddler racing should wear them out! Get them to race up and down the living room while you cheer them on / drink tea. It's very grey here, but no rain. Amazingly, when we went to the park yesterday it was empty for a while- usually on half term there are miserable older kids sitting round in there, which puts George off a bit.

Off to the local greasy spoon for lunch today- the kids love it and it's cheap as anything.

hi all, haven't been on for a bit as back at work (part time) which is great...lunch in peace and no nappies all day long!!! yipeee! I just skim read the posts I've missed.
Welcome redybrek. There is 2 yrs between my two girls and I BF DD2 for 4 months.

Whoever mentioned joint b'day parties....I'm planning on doing that every year for mine, their b'dys are 2 weeks apart. Much less grief!!!

DD1 really playing up still, seems very jealous of DD2 who is now very much on the move and into all of DD1's toys.

I'm finding things quite hard at the mo, but got a few family problems too I'm dealing with too.

Roll on Spring!!

Chaotica · 18/02/2009 22:25

Evening, Ladies

Nice to see you LM74. Sorry to hear you're having troubles, but not sorry to hear you're back at work - it's so easy, isn't it? ...Of course I know nothing about your job, but even so... (even the president of earth (if there was one) would have an easier job than looking after a crew of toddlers ).

Grrrl - Toddler racing? A great idea! (I've been sticking to wrestling, bed bouncing, sofa sliding and other anti-social activities (oh - my childless friends love us so [evil ])
...As it was, we did get to go out and splash in muddy puddles though

Kaybeeand2boys · 20/02/2009 08:56

Lucky you LM going back to work, oh how I long for some peace and quiet!

Mine spend all day chasing each other round the house, ultimately ending in ds1 leading ds2 straight for the stairs, which of course ds2 hasn't mastered yet! Our stairgates don't fit as the gap is too wide, so am trying to find a new one secondhand!
Took ds1 to tumbling tots where he moped around and refused to join in much, which really annoyed me given his over exuberance at home

The muddy puddles sounded like fun Chaotica

Hope everyone has a nice weekend

luckymummy74 · 20/02/2009 10:47

Funny you should say that kaybee as I get so guilty when so many people seem to say "oh I'm dreading going back to work...." although thinking about it, it tends to be people with just the one child....LOL!!!!

GoodGrrrl · 20/02/2009 13:20

I got that promotion at work, and i got accepted on a work course that pays an extra £1200 a year if you pass!! Woop!

Have been horrendously shouty today Rang step MIL to see if she'd like to pop over for a visit, and she's taken DS1 to stay at hers for the night, so it's quite peaceful here now, and it'll be a nice break for us doing one bedtime tonight with DS2, rather than both.

I need a drink!! (And it's barely lunch time!)

JustKeepSwimming · 20/02/2009 15:32

Grrl - well done you!

I have been less shouty recently which is good. mostly because i am getting enough sleep. finally.
though i have developed a v irritating habit of waking in the night for no reason, last night 12, 1, 3 & 5.
ds1 gets up at 5.45 on the dot, argh.

i only work one day a week and i love it! the feeling when i get in the car after dropping them off at nursery......

anyone else struggling with half-term and looking forward to groups & pre-schools starting again next week?
what will the summer holidays be like????

ds2 currently napping, ds1 in his 'tent' (chairs & blankets) - i'm sitting next to him 'in the tent too mummy' with a cuppa feeling pretty relaxed.
just have to think about tea soon.

chaotica - i said about it getting easier to someone else the other day, had to touch wood pretty quickly!

ds2 took his first steps today (well mil said she saw some the other day but i didn't so not counting them!)
so the next level of fun starts....

luckymummy74 · 20/02/2009 19:03

I have been more shouty lately..... To the point where I thought I might have to apologise to neighbours .

I remember when we moved in thinking my neighbour sounded like such an old fish-wife, yelling at her kids all day long (at the time they were 2,4 and 6 yrs old, all boys). I was a newly-we childless woman at the time....now I understand!!! (and now she's my mate and she doesn't shout anymore!)

luckymummy74 · 20/02/2009 19:04

newly-wed.

tracyface · 20/02/2009 21:31

Ooh Talking of newly wed . I have just got engaged and i'm so excited. Hav'nt been on for a little while as been running around in organising mode (not easy with my two in tow)

Need to get my head into birthday mode though because Isaac is 1 on Tuesday and Melissa is 2 on Thursday so I think we will be having a joint birthday this year.

Well done Grrl on your job. And lucky mummy going back to work. I like the idea of going back to work and have been for a few interviews but then realised that my salary isnt enough to cover childcare for my two so its just not worth it. Although it would be nice to have some me time even if it cost me. lol .

Not yet milked my me time yet from oh ski holiday but I have lots of window shopping to do now so he has no excuse.

Chaotica · 21/02/2009 08:26

Morning All

Congratulations, Grrrl and Tracyface (for different reasons). How exciting

...More later when I don't have a toddler shouting for me (and I'm trying to let DP have a lie in)...

JustKeepSwimming · 21/02/2009 13:09

Congratulations Traceyface

Enjoy all the planning!!!

GoodGrrrlGoneBad · 23/02/2009 07:11

yes, congrats!

Well, it's my birthday today. I've had a bottle of gin, a book and a tenner, and my friend bought me a money box that says 'i'm saving up for more valium' and a coaster with a smiling woman, which reads- Because chocolate can't get you pregnant' I've got work today, but you get a half day if it's your birthday, so i can leave at 12pm! On the down side- my PIL and SIL have clearly forgotten my birthday, which has hurt my feelings a bit, but there you go.

Zoo was great yesterday- nice weather, and i've never seen George so happy.

JustKeepSwimming · 23/02/2009 07:52

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRRL
(how old?)

Sad about your relatives. i find it odd how many people can forget/not be bothered about birthdays
Enjoy your day

JustKeepSwimming · 23/02/2009 07:56
