How old were you when you became a mum?

That says it all. I was 33. When I first started posting on mumsnet I got the feeling that most members were late twenties/early thirties - don't know how much that has changed though.

I will

Gw................................ick

I promise, but I can Google them can't I ? [pleading emoticon]

You know it was quite strange. Both children (and a miscarriage at 38) were conceived in the first month of 'trying' or not in the case of DS

So glad that it all 'worked' when it mattered. Just getting to terms with the HRT thing now. Hate it hate it hate it!!!

LGJ - of course CAT me if you would rather do it 'off board'

LGJ · 13/03/2005 23:18

Thanks Soap

Quite happy to post here, but not tonight.

This is a great place.

any questions - send them my way - no probs!

HRT's not so bad! what you need are the ones like Livial and Kliofem - no bleed

I'm off it now anyway!

LGJ · 13/03/2005 23:30

Thanks JT

Need to see Gp as per Gw...................icks orders, then will post.

Re Gw........................ick private joke,

Jools - can't have no bleed unless you have had a hysterectomy. Apparently unopposed oestrogen can cause cancer of the womb. So the main, possibly only, perk of menopause has been lost!

TBH I'm not sure I will continue with hrt - never really had any menopausal symptoms and the side effects of hrt are defo outweighing any benefits!

wheresmyfroggy · 13/03/2005 23:36

Became a dad at 26
Will be 27 when no 2 is born.

JoolsToo · 13/03/2005 23:37

soapbox - that's interesting - I too had no menopausal syptoms!

but I was on hrt for 10 years supposedly to protect against heart disease and osteoporosis - I was on Kliofem for years - no bleed - only stipulation was that you had to have your last period at least 12 months before.

Just signed with a new doctor and he says that the feeling now is that all the push to get women off hrt was a bit OTT - however he's offered me a bone scan - so I'm having one! might as well!

soapbox · 13/03/2005 23:42

Jools - I'm off to bed but may well try and CAT you tomorrow re HRT if that's OK??? Would be nice to find out if my yuckiness feelings will go away if I stick with it or whether it will be the same yuck every month

JoolsToo · 13/03/2005 23:44

yep ok! no probs!
