yeah! finally got to try the bubblegum wonderoo last night (well, DD that is!) and soooooo impressed! the insert was soaked through but her bum and nappy perfectly dry! now I'm having a crisis, as think I should get some more of these especially for night so I'm sure of a dry bum (can't believe how much smaller it was when full compared to a full pampers baby dry!!!).... but loooove the pop-in too for his slim fit and feel (and still as absorbant), so maybe should go for a few of each ... is there much difference between the wonderoo and the bumgenius? any other good but cheaper pocket nappies in your experience (btp though as otherwise this nappy addiction will make me bankrup ). thanks

Oh, if the pocket is not soiled, could you re-use it just changing insert?

rusmum · 17/10/2008 12:22

ANYONE selling any terry or bamboo squares??

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 17/10/2008 12:28

Fullmoon - You're making me wonder whether I should be trying these pockets/pop-ins now. They're a bit pricey though. I've found Wonderoos for 20% off on babykind though if you're thinking of getting more, offer ends at the end of Oct.

what wonderoos.

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 17/10/2008 13:18

rachel - I thought I'd get into the Halloween spirit and give you my third time round horror story tbh it wasn't bad at all just rather frustrating

howler - BG are aplix fit with poppers to adjust the rise - the cut is quite different to Wonderoos and the pocket insert is bigger on the Wonderoos so more DH friendly and you can get more stuffing inside. BG are more expensive, wonderoos are bigger so more bulky on a newborn but fit bigger toddlers for longer. Out of all the nappies in my trial kits the Wonderoos always get a very good response (even though they are flourescent orange!). tbh I think you'd be hard pushed to find another pocket nappy which is as reliable at the price they are atm - they have been on offer for a while now so now is a good time to buy. I saw some hemp inserts for them the other day - they are very good for night and very thin fitting - just trying to think where I saw them (they weren't very easy to spot) - I'd snap them up if I were you and thinking of going for more Wonderoos. Mommy's touch are another btp pocket but very prone to leaking

I always change the whole nappy even if just wet but some people do just change the insert - it's up to you.

FullMoonHowler · 17/10/2008 13:19

lollipop - they're pricey, but then they're one-size (I think I'm only going to add btp to my collection from now on, as once she grows out of the size 1s I won't need to buy anymore... uness I want too ) ... pop-ins trials are cheaper here if you spend over £15 in total or I just got one from here. Wonderoos are cheaper here though (free p+p). I'd try one, they're really good fit and slim especially the pop-in (will take a picture of dd in both and post on profile, when they're dry...)

FullMoonHowler · 17/10/2008 13:22

BBM - thanks, won't bother with the bg, then - trying to find s.thing more DP-friendly so no excuses ...

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 17/10/2008 13:22

howler

here

and here - although I am tempted myself.....

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 17/10/2008 13:26

Don't get mo wrong BG are fab but if you've found something very similar which works for you and is 1/2 the price why bother with the BG I say?

ilovemydog · 17/10/2008 13:36

The Bum Genius sized is infinitely better than the one size (V3). Left the kids with DP and he was happy to use them.... he doesn't like Bambino Mio (too fiddly) for example, but is OK with flexitots and other shaped nappies

The problem with wonderoos is that they are low riders, so depends on shape.

rusmum · 17/10/2008 14:17

Anyone selling any terry ot bamboo squares?? To what age size will 60cm square fit????

I have added pics of DD's to my profile!!!

4andnotout · 17/10/2008 14:30

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 17/10/2008 21:45

Rusmum - Nappyzone

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 18/10/2008 00:35

Someone in the know - which is the most absorbant, bamboo, hemp or micro-terry? I think I know the answer but just checking!

I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a Wonderoo, my DP is going to go mental!

My mum just bought me 10 XS Sandys! I feel bad because I know they will only fit for another couple of weeks but she doesn't seem to mind, said I can sell them on afterwards and use the money to get small ones. Still feel bad for her though.

babyjjbaby · 18/10/2008 08:52

rusmum little ewes are luvly and thick alot thicker than mothercare ones

bbm is a happy heiny nappy any good

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 18/10/2008 13:16

I've just purchased 2 new Wonderoos and a used one off a lady on another site, looking forwards to trying them. I also have 4 Nature Babies Loveables coming. I'be got a few Kissaluvs here, not tried them but I don't like the look of them at all so I reckon i'm going to sell them on if I ever get my act together.

I've pre-washed my Bumhuggers 6 times and dried them, very impressed by how quick they dried, but they don't look new anymore, the fleece has already changed in looks and the outside is a bit harder (line dried).

isaidboo · 18/10/2008 13:30

lollipop - the bumhuggers benefit from a 10 minute tumble if you have a drier. I always line / airer dry then finish them off in the tumble dryer.

FullMoonHowler · 18/10/2008 17:02

lollipop - at least sandy's have good resale value. About to order a wonderoo with hemp inserts to see the difference (DD slept for 5 continuous hours last night so in all she had hers on for about 7 hours and her bum was soo dry (and the nappy wasn't down to her knees like full pampers!!!). Finally made a decision - will keep all the bamboo sandy's plus get one more wonderoo and get pack of 10 pop-ins - DP's decision really, cos he likes the easiness of the pop-in, after that I think I should put a filter on the laptop to block all nappy sites! Never been addicted to anything but this... envy you, BBM!!! right excuse to have so many, maybe I should change career

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 18/10/2008 19:44

Babyjj - HHs are OK as long as they haven't been well used, I think you'll find BG are better though.

lollipop - yep, I've got loads of different types here but tbh I have my favourites and just seem to be sticking with those now unless I have reason to change. Best bit is when I am tempted by something else I can usually put my hands on one to try out easily enough without parting with any cash . Def not a career though. Glad you like the bamboo Sandy's
