Hello girls!

Chaotica, Connor sounds like he will be toddling around in no time! I think they look so cute when toddling around (mostly accompanied by a massive grin - and one from mummy and daddy too)

Wow well done to Dylan grrrl on taking those first few steps - did you feel all emotional? I do when they have a little leap of progress. And sounds like you have turned the corner re the solid food situation! I must admit, Izzy eats alot better when it is stuff she holds in her hand, or stuff off our plates. And yes, it is going so fast! We'll all be talking about number 3 soon! only joking, for me 2 is it! And re your dizzy spells, a friend of mine was getting dizzy spells and she also felt a bit under the weather (she described it as feeling lik she had a hangover) and it turned out to be a viral infection that is going around. She took pils for a few days and she was fine. Anyway, hope all ok and may the gods be smiling down on you managing Dylan and George at the surgery [brave woman emoticon]

We are all fine, Freya has been trying my patience a little but today. You know sometimes I can cope with it and others - well I just wish she would pipe down!!!

I am having my hair cut saturday with a fringe [nod to grrrl] and have just bought one of those massive wide corset belts to go with new high waisted jeans and skimpy top. I seem to have lost my waist a little bit since having Izzy and hoping the corset belt will help define the shape again. I know I could use the control underwear option but I just can;t do it - uncomfortable and unsexy. I think I'd rather look a bit wobbly in my normal knickers!

Chaotica · 27/08/2008 18:27

Got to be an advantage of the small age gap -- now Connor is moving about the house is already nearly child-proofed already... (he'll probably pull a mountain of toys down on himself now ).

Grrrl - glad to hear Dylan is walking and eating. Connor is getting more enthusiastic about food loved it in Turkey and ate his own weight in fruit every day but I can't get him to do that here; think he liked sitting in restaurants by the sea chomping on dip and salad and chips as well ( he probably wonders what's happened to the finer things in life).

Chaotica - you're back!

I've not managed to look at thread for ages, dh has been on holiday (chaos, no housework, lots of days out, any vague routine out of the window!), i've been ill, dd's now poorly too.

Oh and i've discovered facebook (less time to spend on Mumsnet - oh no!)

Will try to catch up on thread later, hope you are all well.

Hi Hazeyjane -- Think I'm too old for facebook

Trying to work my way up to some potty training for DD... ...starting tomorrow

TattooedGrrrl · 28/08/2008 12:46

Hi hazey- mine are ill too- rotten colds. DS1 better, but DS2 was a nightmare last night. We've had about 4hrs sleep, he screamed for half the night Poor DH has them today while i'm in work.

I'm on facebook too.

OP posts:
TattooedGrrrl · 28/08/2008 12:48

good luck Chaotica. When DS1 was feeling ill, he kept weeing everywhere, making to attempt to use his potty. I put pull ups and dungarees on him in the end!

OP posts:
Chaotica · 28/08/2008 14:30

Thanks, Grrrl. I need all the luck I can get. DD says she's ready to try, but I don't know whether she actually has any real idea of what that means (other than that she gets to wear knickers with iggle piggle on them ).

Sorry to hear your DCs are ill. Connor has had a cold and been waking lots in the night - he was becoming really settled as well so I hope he goes back to it. Just have to hope DD doesn't get it as well or the potty training is off!

Chaotica · 29/08/2008 17:56

Think the pt is going ok: knickers/garden 4 potty 5 -- so we're winning (after a predictably dodgy start of 3-nil). But I'm soooo fed up of asking DD if she wants the potty - fortunately she's sprinted up to it a couple of times so there is hope.

...Glad dp is home tomorrow. Maybe I'll just go out with DS (evil )...

simpson · 29/08/2008 22:21

Hi all!!

Am back from Holland had a great time apart from DH breaking his collar bone and now out of action for 6 weeks so ALL childcare is down to me especially as DD has decided to stop going through the night having gone through since 11 wks old. and now wants a feed at 3/4am and then wants to start day at 6am

Sorry have not had time to read posts that I have missed

Cazwa · 29/08/2008 22:24

Hi all, sorry Ive been away for a while! Returning to work even just 2.5 days a week seems to have taken over all my free time. Im spending quite a bit of my evenings doing work on the laptop as Im supposed to do half a day in my own time. Tiring, but enjoyable all the same.

Kids are great, Billy is teething and has got his first 2 teeth. Stella is a little madam but very funny. Both sleeping pretty well, bit early sometimes, we are seeing 5am on the clock a bit too much for my liking but at least sleeping through. Thankful for small mercies

OK, jealousy time. I was out at a gig last night and am going to Nice on tuesday with DH WITHOUT kids for 3 nights, hurrah!!! But how gross is this, at the concert (went to see Kasabian) people were chucking pints of lager around, which is annoying but fine if you are moshing around, which I was . BUT then there were some very warm pints that hit me and then I realised that it was wee!! People were actually pissing into pint pots then throwing them around . I must have got hit about 4 times and soaked from head to toe. If there was a puke emoticon I would use it.

GRRL, I went out with a friends DH who is training to be a driving instructor, I got my driving ripped apart even though Ive been driving for 10 years! I didnt know that you now fail if you brake to a stop and move down the gears (ie. 4th, then 3rd, 2nd, 1st) when you should apparently go 4th to 1st. That just seems wrong to me.

Waffling now, nice to hear from everyone anyway!

Chaotica · 29/08/2008 22:27

Hi Simpson! Glad to see you back. Your poor DH (and poor you if you're having to do all the hard work).

DS ate loads today. I hope that translates into him sleeping better. [fingers crossed]

Don't know whether I can go the whole evening and manage not to ask DP if he wants to use the potty (getting to be a bit of a habit ). Like when I had dogs and I'd suddenly tell a friend to "sit!" when we got to a kerb ...

Chaotica · 29/08/2008 22:29

Hi Cazwa as well ... But wee [euuw] (and I'm potty training at the minute so I should almost be immune to that). (At least I know whose wee it is...)

simpson · 30/08/2008 00:27

Can't believe I am still up I am going to bed now i promise

Well DS chose tonight when DH can't help me do anything and DD screamed when put to bed and loads of unpacking/washing to do etc to ask me why girls don't have willies Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

How do you answer that one?? Told him girls don't have ones but didn't want to get into discussion on what girls did have Help????

TattooedGrrrl · 30/08/2008 12:36

Cazwa- Billy is such a cute name

DH and i are having possibly the hardest week of our lives. The lack of sleep is killing us. George insists on getting up around 5am, regardless of when he went to bed or how much he's napped. Dylan has been torture at night, although last night was better- i brought him into bed at 1.30am after getting up about 6 times up til then. He's smothered with cold, teething, and the doctor checked his ears and said although they weren't infected, they were inflamed. Poor sod.

Fingers crossed for tonight.

Takeaway tonight, then early night again.

Chaotica · 30/08/2008 18:01

Sorry to hear about the crap time you're having Grrrl. I hope you get some sleep tonight and DS2 gets better.

Arrgh - potty training not going so well today (about 8-3 to the underwear/garden -- DD seems to have forgotten how to manage yesterday's success), added to DS whinging and moaning until I gave in and gave him some calpol (after which he became sweetness and light, poor little guy) (and I thought he was just being a moany baby ).

Chaotica · 30/08/2008 18:03

I agree with Grrrl: Billy is a cool name, Cazwa.

simpson · 30/08/2008 19:04

Grrrl - hope sleep better tonight fingers X

Chaotica - God how I hate potty/toilet training!! DS still not cracked the poos is doing my head in!!

Caswa - felt quite ill reading wee story

Its my Ds's 3rd birthday tomorrow. Have wrapped his little pressies ie books, magnetic letters, puzzle etc but have bought him a wooden balance bike but of course DH can't put it together with one arm....

Also going to Ireland to see in laws on Tuesday for a week so out in town buying stuff for trip and forgot to get birthday cake & candles

Cazwa · 30/08/2008 22:28

I like Dylan and George too Its nice knowing everyones names now.

God, Im having crap nights now too after smug last post. Billy was up for ages last night with his cough and teeth. Was up again tonight at 9.30 and took half an hour to settle poor man. Can see Im in for another crap night unless Medised works its magic.

Grrll, heres hoping for a decent nights sleep....

Simpson, enjoy 3rd birthday!

TattooedGrrrl · 31/08/2008 16:35

Hi all,

Went to the gym this morning, burned about 320cals, so i'm enjoying a glass of wine

Took the boys next door to neighbours 2nd birthday party- am knackered!

Have uploaded a picture of me too on my profile

Hope we both have better nights tonight Cazwa.

Hello girls!

Sorry have not been around that much. Been doing lots of exciting stuff like hoovering and washing. Oh and I have had my fringe cut grrrl and LOVE it! Oh and looked at your pictures, your children are really gorgeous and can see what you mean about your fringe - looks really nice. I think as well, it's nice to be able to ruffle it around or have it to side for a different look. (sorry fringe rant over!)

DH has a bloody cold so I am sure the girls will get one too. And then it will be my time prob just as we are going on holiday! I'll be all red-nosed when I see all my old friends!

All well here, but Freya has taken a backwards step re being dry at night. She has been in pants for months and months, and now, last week she has pretty much wet the bed every other day. So, have cut back her pre-bed drinks to before 5 only, and I put her on toilet like 8 times between 6 and 7 (bedtime) so let's see how that goes. Arrrgh!

Also Izzy is going through that 'grabby' phase where she grabs my face, digs her little adorable fingers in and squeezes! I have some serious marks on my face and neck and now, when she comes towards me, I have started screwing my eyes shut and taking a defence pose against further facial injuries! [so I will have red nose and marks all over my face when we go on holiday - attractive!]

TattooedGrrrl · 01/09/2008 12:11

aarrggghhhh i'm in work on under 4hrs sleep. i want to die.

Dyl was up between 11pm-12am, then George got up at 5am and woke Dyl aswell.

Blurgh.

Chaotica · 01/09/2008 17:38

Oh Grrrl - you have my sympathy. The sleepless nights are sort of bearable until you go back to work, then it's hell to get through the day (for some more than others, I s'pose

simpson · 01/09/2008 18:41

Chaotica - don't get me started on potty/toilet training. Ds still only pooing in pants now complaining his bum is sore (am not suprised )

Grrrl - sorry about the bad sleeping. DD is not too bad @ night but daytime sleep sucks. Today she has had 1hr sleep from 8am till now.She has just gone to bed. Cue wingeing, wanting to be carried etc. And the 1hr sleep was a 40 min battle before she dropped off!!

simpson · 02/09/2008 09:50

Just signing out for 6 days as going to Ireland to see MIL (from Hell)

Dreading trip as flying with 2 DCs, 2 bags and DH with one arm will try to keep calm....

Chaotica · 02/09/2008 12:44

Simpson that sounds awful hope it isn't as bad as it sounds... Is there anyway you can get MIL to do the potty training for you? (Combining one awful thing with another...)

(Potty training this morning was entirely based on not wanting to mess up the red knickers...) (but we have only one pair of red knickers -- perhaps I should rush out and try to buy some more asap )

Hope you got some sleep last night, Grrrl. I actually got Connor to settle himself .
