At what age should boys stop weeing on the toilet seat?

Need some advice from other boy parents please on something that is driving me mad!
At what age should I expect my boys to stop peeing all over the toilet seat, or be able to clean it up if they do? I have two boys 9 and 11 and multiple times per day they pee over the toilet seat despite me and DH talking to them about it and gently reminding them. Will this ever end?!

What age do boys usually stand up to wee? My DS is 4 and starts school in a couple of weeks. This thread has made me realise he’s probably going to end up covered in other people’s wee when he uses the toilets 😭. He has never stood up to wee so I was hoping at that age all the other kids would also still be sitting.

Just get them to do sit down wees, there’s no need for any males to be standing up unless it’s at a urinal.

My SS19 still pees on the toilet seat and won’t clean up after himself. I’d expect by 12 they’d at least be able to aim properly and clean up after themselves. My DC’s are still infants so I know I have all this to come 😅

My mum used to call out my brother for it after asking gently multiple times. Didn’t matter if he had friends over or was in the middle of something, he had to go back in and clean it. He then had to get into the habit of wiping down the toilet after he’d been so there was no excuse in missing.

Does he have a bend in it or is he so short sighted that he can't see to pee straight and needs new specs.

Ask him. Every time. Grubby item that he is.

Loos are for sitting on. Urinals are for standing up to pee.

My DH has always sat and both DS's never knew any different. They are adults now and I presume they learned to stand at urinals at some point.

I have 3 boys so I understand this struggle. My eldest is 13 and was a nightmare for it.

Every.single.time he did it I would march him from whatever he was doing and stand over him while he cleaned it up. I wouldn’t discretely tell him to do it. I would shout to clean his piss off the toilet immediately. Does he expect me (or anyone else) to sit down in it?? Repulsive.

Leave it how you found it. This went on for a few weeks but he never does it anymore.

There is no age at which it is acceptable for a boy to wee on the toilet seat.

They sit down until they can manage standing, by which point they are old enough to clean up their own mess.

My 4 year old has the odd accident but will clean up after himself. My 11 year old and 8 year old are fine. They all sit to wee including my husband. Life's far too short for pissy bathrooms.

If they are old enough to use a toilet, they are old enough to clean up any mess.
My 2 boys have learnt.

Me: THERE IS PEE ON THE LOO/FLOOR. I DON'T CARE WHO DID IT, YOU HAVE 1 MINUTE TO CLEAN IT.

They were taught to stand. I have no idea what the other males in their and my life do.
