No village

Hi all,

I’m currently pregnant with my second baby and have almost no village to speak of. I have no mother or mother in law on hand and the other few relatives I have near by are either not capable of doing anything more than basic baby sitting (no changing or meals or taking children out) or are just not reliable enough. I also only have one or two close friends but they have children of their own and work.

I just want to hear from anyone out there parenting in the same situation and who can offer some tips and reassurance please as feeling very overwhelmed and anxious x

DC1 was at nursery while I gave birth to dc2, she had been attending there for 18m before that so she was settled there and used to the staff. I needed a c-section for medical reasons so no fear of rushing to the labour ward in the middle of the night. We found it quick and easy, though DH had to pick up dc1 in the evening and then I was alone in the hospital looking after dc2 and recovering from the c-section. But he came back thr next day after dc1 was in nursery, and I came home the second day. We didn't have any help from anyone else and didn't need it.
